  1. Eventually…sink in. But some of these sellers have little skin in the game. They purchased low, have the room, and are trying to make max $$$ from a free marketplace.
  2. …and they advertise it with buckets and console. I would go $14,000 or so. It’s still a nice neat car that takes you back, but the insanity needs to stop somewhere.
  3. Marketplace - 1955 Buick Roadmaster | Facebook Note the incorrect listing as a "Century" Seller's Description 55 Buick Century nice body minimal rust needs restored motor stuck 2500 or best offer
  4. Wow. I followed that car until it said SOLD. There was disagreement on this forum regarding value/will it sell won’t it sell.
  5. We disagree. There are 56 Chevy convertibles that have sold for $100,000, now more like $50,000 to $75,000. This Packard is likely priced about right, a little high. The issues have more to do with an aging group of potential buyers. Packard fans are loyal and I am sure 56 Caribbeans are/were on their bucket lists. But this seller misunderstands the greater market if he thinks pointing out obvious 56 Caribbean facts will draw in a salt and pepper haired recent retiree looking to scratch a collector car convertible itch- most don’t care.
  6. This sellers story is ridiculous. He has butchered up perfectly good door panels with aftermarket speakers. He only wants serious buyers? Says you can drive it anywhere without heat, defrost, or AC. What a mess! You hop in it, drive 5 miles, get caught in a humid rainstorm and the windows fog up.
  7. It's hard to tell in the changing landscape of old car values whether $73,000 is high or not. Obviously, if a person is going to drop $70,000 then a personal inspection is in order. It qualifies as rare on many fronts. Last year for a true Packard. The flagship Packard for that year, and a rare color combination. Being yellow and black in the Hawkeye state would be a win. But light yellow, despite rarity, is not a great color for this year. That pink, some reds, dark blues are why this is so rare. Most high end luxury makes from 1956 still draw good dollars I believe but must be among the best restorations or originals and well sorted. I can see a 1956 Cadillac convertible going for $55,000 to $80,000 but $80,000 better have receipts and be flawless.
  8. Sal I like AMC. I just don’t like some of their cars. They went too far! Gremlin? Hornet? Matador was pushing it. AMX was awesome and so were the Javelins.
  9. To me it’s a very attractive car that has seen a lot of care. I am one of the few out there that like tans and beige cars. Look at how the chrome and stainless pop.
  10. Thanks Steve! I did not know that but it makes a lot of sense. Early postwar anything a manufacturer made sold. And why bring in an 8 cylinder ? Number 2 is my knowledge that Nash’s bathtubs were all 6 cylinders.
  11. No doubt you may be correct because it does not appear to be body color of green but I recall my Roadmaster and many more I have seen to be almost a “hammered” metallic grey. But admittedly it’s been maybe 10-12 years since I have seen a 49 Roadmaster.
  12. Looked at the additional photos, it’s a 6 cylinder. Lose the stupid headlight brows.
  13. Depends on if it’s a 6 or 8 in my opinion. $20,000 is too much for a 6. $20,000 is likely too much for an 8 but to a Nash collector maybe not.
  14. Well John knows I prefer the 2 door styling pretty much across the board for Chrysler-Lincoln-Cadillac. I much prefer that dark Blue and white 2 door but I appreciate the seller of the yellow one not price gouging.
  15. How many times do we see cars like this owned by the “next generation “ who just want to fund a cruise or a home improvement- priced unrealistically at $29,000 or such? Here we have a hobbyist presenting a nice car for a reasonable price.
  16. (3) Marketplace - 1920 Dodge 30 | Facebook If the ad is up, the car is still for sale - tis a 1920 Dodge Brothers touring car model 30. Restored in the late 1980s with a full documented engine rebuild, new interior, new roof, new paint, tires and tubes, and all body work done. The car has sat for a number of years and although it starts and drives it does need a carburetor rebuild. The horn also is tired. I am out of space and need to sell the car, but this would be a great parade car or cruising car for anybody. Very solid and complete, clean title. Rarer version of a 20's classic to challenge the Model T Ford
