  7. Color is holding it back. If this were a dark blue or black, it would likely be snatched up by an LCOC member who I am sure knows about it.
  8. Ok guys we will see. The one aspect of Facebook marketplace I prefer over the old Craigslist is that I can save an item. I have seen quite a few like this go unsold for months or even over a year. Some simply drop off, removed by the seller. So we will see. With this CL ad costing $5 a month we will see where it goes. I have owned a lot of 4 door models John. Cadillac, Buick, Imperial- all made nice looking 4 door models.
  9. I’m glad someone agrees with me. That’s why it has not sold IMO. Plus price.
  10. Been in communication with him. He wants a local sale. It’s in Temecula CA. I google mapped it at about 1700 miles, 23 1/2 hours. 2 days at 12 hours a day. Maybe 2 1/2 days. I need a local Buick rep to handle the transaction.
  11. Very interesting time warp trip. I would have loved to look in that house too.
  12. That’s an amazing car Brian. Set up the way I like. I’m not an AC power accessories guy. I like PS and PB but feel those old options like power seats, windows and AC fail so often, it’s not worth the hassle. How many times do we see the comment on sales “ AC just needs a little charge”. I would seriously take a run at this one and might, but it would have to be sight unseen. It’s a long way away, superior to the Nebraska car.
  13. I’ve had 1963, 1964 and early 70’s Electras. But I agree, a 65-66 Electra is nice. In 67, they added bulk in the rear quarters I never liked. I think my friend Roy Faries has a 65 Electra convertible. Pair that with a 4 door, would be nice.
  14. I still think it’s priced high. The 350 and TH350 should be fine but I doubt service records will be available. You are still dealing with a 50+ year old car, from Iowa. Few are going to make this their collections top prize. It’s a great 2nd or 3rd car to rotate in. I think it’s a $3500 car. I have purchased at least 6 low mileage early 70’s Buicks. One was a 27,000 mile 72 Electra for $1,500. Drove it to a buyer in Oklahoma and had no issues. Had a 73 Electra with 67,000 original miles, drove it and showed it. So, I’m not too keen on a nearly $8,000 pillared LESabre. $3500 seems right.
  15. Should be a Sticky here, as it drops down and is hard to find. That’s my old sign on, done on my birthday 10 years ago.
  16. I am glad they are in good hands, or so it seems.
  17. Aaron - I kind of agree. It has been for sale for at least a year. He just deleted older ads and redid the ads. It’s all about price. I think he started in the $14,000 range.
  18. No leather offered. I like browns and tan but I don’t think I can handle that color. When I see “leather interior” I instantly know this is being sold by the next generation.
  19. Matt You and I share a love of Internationals, and like most of the old vehicles I like, my interest came from very little. I also like Triumph TR's especially the TR4. I have owned 2. I have owned a 1973 Datsun 260Z, and many other cars. I know this is a Buick forum, but I can't remember what drew me to International, except - like Buicks are to Chevys and Fords, I like the ones less collected. I was "getting close" on a 1956 S110, but the guy took the hood for another 56 International. Dropped the price to $2,000 BUT where am I going to get a hood for a one year only body style (hood anyway). My other focus is on later year halo cars like the C4 Corvettes, the Chrysler Crossfires, maybe a nice Reatta. And for Buick, that's the rub. Reattas were made from 1988 to 1991, about 3 1/2 years. The much later "Cascada" - an Opel badged as a Buick, is a nice convertible and collected now. I also like the last gen Rivieras, and would love to own a 1998-1999, especially a 1999, because like the 1991 Reattas, in theory, the low numbers of made cars makes them "collectible." But other than that, a person is hard pressed to call anything made by Buick after a certain date as something that gets noticed as a collector. I doubt I would get much of the proverbial "thumbs up" with a 95-99 Riviera. And, it doesn't seem to make much sense to get a "non" convertible such as a last gen Riviera. The same kind of goes for me in looking at the C4 Corvettes (1984 to 1996). I see some nice coupes, all of them have removeable roof panels, but why? When convertibles are so prevalent at the same prices. The Chrysler Crossfires are the same way, they made both coupes and convertibles, but I would only consider a convertible. I like your point about a convertible being a safer version of a Harley. Buick made nice full size convertibles as you are aware - from 1962 to 1975. Of course, I know they made convertibles long before that, but a 1960's to 1975 Buick convertible is modern, easy to drive and gets "decent" gas mileage. But, it won't fit in the garage, our modern suburban garage. Which leads me back to the so-called "modern" collectible Buick, a rare dinosaur.
  20. Marketplace - 1965 Buick Electra 225 | Facebook I posted this car about a year ago and that ad had 1-2 bad photos. Car needs paint, but it's a rarely seen model from an attractive year and if the mileage is truly 33,000, then you have a collector car. I doubt I am a buyer, but if a buyer could get this for $5,000, would you professionally paint it? If you found a decent "rural" not big name body shop that would do it for $10,000, you would have a nice $15,000 car. Seller's Description 1965 Buick Electra 225 2-door. 33,000 miles. Bunch of photos included. Paint it or drive it like it is. 100% of the trim is there. It’s a true 33,000 mile car.
  21. He relisted. His new ad says the wife of the buyer told him no. Relisted, different ad…
  22. Could be. Trans Ams are iconic with few projects available. I expect over bidding and would go, but am going to a baseball game that weekend.
