  1. I believe this is in Iowa. I owned a 76 Trans Am, loved it, bought for $1500, sold for $700, worth ?? $12,000 as I sold it now.
  2. I respectfully disagree. Project Trans Ams are hard to come by. The 70's Trans Ams are one of the go to project cars because they are well supported by catalogs, sell for enormous prices. I expect the rough, no motor Trans Ams and Formulas here to sell for $20,000 +++.
  3. So, I usually just don't respond to next generation ads selling dad's or Grandpas old car. But I had to for this dumba**. I was pretty polite and straightforward in my message. He wants it gone this weekend at $8500. (Insert rolling eye imogi here)
  4. Marketplace - 1953 Buick Special 8 Deluxe | Facebook Family car that is in very nice original condition. Want it sold this weekend.
  5. I see both sides. $3500 cash should be doable but I have seen cars for sale on facebook marketplace where the seller is asking, say $13,000 and they say something like "no test drives without cash in hand." Stupid in my opinion. So I am serious about a car - I am going to go to my bank and say I want 13 large, put it in this duffle bag. 1st, they probably (and have for me) place a hold on that for drug reasons. In higher price exchanges, I would say take $1,000 cash deposit but not $13,000. (In my example) But for $3,500 you can either take a substantial down payment - because you still don't know if you want it - or the entire $3,500. And remember, bringing cash creates urgency for the seller and allows you to negotiate.
  6. Perhaps a bit over-priced because of mileage but this is a nice looking convertible. Owner seems to have taken care of it.
  7. (1) Marketplace - 1990 Buick Reatta Convertible | Facebook 1990 Buick Reatta Convertible, 121k miles excellent condition. One of only 123 Maui Blue convertibles made. Only 2100 convertibles made and all hand assembled. Original shiny paint, two sets of tires and two sets of original rims. A couple tiny imperfections in body, all power accessories work, trunk cylinder lock does not work, but electric release does. Stereo works but original speakers are cracked and sounds bad. Vinyl top like new with glass window and defroster. Cold A/C, 16 way power driver's seat, all leather, has one original remote.
  8. A cool time capsule but not a $13,500 time capsule. Inflation seems to have come to the project market. This one needs restored or at least refresh. And that's the issue. Paint and body = $10,000 to $15,000. Interior might be serviceable but after fresh paint everything is going to look dated. Chrome.... Could I own and enjoy this car as is? Yes, but at $5,000. And that is when the seller hangs up on you or calls you ridiculous. We probably won't ever know if or at what price this car or most cars like it - sells for. The old "none of your business" when you ask. The one to buy is the older restoration that may have cost the seller $35,000 20 + years ago, they enjoyed and cared for it for 20 years and are now aging out of the hobby (hey, it happens) and are offering it for $15,000. But warn out paint and interior 4 door hardtops from the 1950's should not sell for $13,500. My opinion
  9. It is hard to say from 2 photos, but this should be a good project car. I am not likely a buyer, but if I were to jump back into the hobby I have been leaning toward the Specials and the smaller 8 cylinder.
  10. (1) Marketplace - 1937 Buick Slantback | Facebook Seller's Description 1937 Buick Special Slant Back -suicide doors -been in storage for over 35 years -in very good condition for it’s age Prefer to be contacted via text. Please message me via Facebook for phone number
  11. Leatherette upholstery? That’s a huge compromise. What else did they compromise on?
  12. This is a Dubonnet car with matching interior. This is the chosen color by Oldsmobile to market the car and I suspect 25% of 66 production was Dubonnet. Lots of missing information in this presentation. Seller doesn’t know color. Proceed with caution.
  13. This is not the one you want. “All original “ no. Will need “gone through” — you do it but give me $23,000 for the privilege to remove from space I want back. I’m just getting very cynical. I would not want a white limousine. With burgundy velour interior.
  14. I don’t like Cougars. The formal roof line never interested me. Fastback Mustangs or convertibles are pretty nicely styled.
  15. It just caught my eye and I should have it. I’ve had a lot of 73 Buicks. And these signs have to be rare. I’m pretty sure it will be there awhile and when it gets to be “really hot” here, it’s nice to go into Brass Armadillo and walk in the air conditioning.
  16. Marketplace - Tonka Hot Wheels Structo Signs Antique Vintage Toys | Facebook This sign is in a local Brass Armadillo stall, which is a semi-national antique/collectors mall concept. I don't know how much it costs, but it's about 4 miles away from me and if serious I would be glad to go purchase and send to you.
  17. Everyone is going to want the 49. I’m not even sure what the 50 or 39 are.
  18. The 41 Limiteds are impressive but I am generally not a fan of the 41 Buick front ends/grilles. I love the 40 Buick front end but the 41s look like 40s on steroids. Still not a bad period look , just not my favorite. Thst said, 41 Buicks rank among the most popular. So for me, the 42 front styling is better than 41. Add to that the rarity of any 1942 car, then add the rarity of the flagship car, well that would be my preference. I am not handing this seller the money he asks but it appears to be a special car.
  19. Probably, I was going off my memory from reading 40 years of periodicals and antecdotal I formation. I knew it was available but not Sue if standard.
  20. Shame on the seller for allowing such poor “storage”. Make offer? They are probably thinking each is worth $10,000 or more.
  21. Compound carburation was still available in 1942, not sure it was standard like in 1941.
  22. Marketplace - 1942 Buick Limited 90 | Facebook 1942 Buick Limited 90. Very rare. Original paint. Original interior in great condition. Straight 8 engine with manual transmission. One of only 2 known to be left. For more information, or to view please call Casey at [hidden information] or Shane at [hidden information] or Keith
