  1. You’ll remember The Vanguards “ Somebody Please.” Now, My Man, that was an outstanding piece of music. Turbinator
  2. Paying close attention to vehicles ahead and how other drivers are operating their vehicle is a great tip off for what m I g h t happen. I give the crazy drivers a wide berth.
  3. Yes, continuing to improve the overall condition of 63 zRiviera.
  4. I believe the interior molding you are asking the color code may not exist. I’m happy to be wrong if someone can direct me/us to the color code for the molding. In my 63 the molding around the top matches the headliner. The Apilars are chrome. Molding around the windows match the exterior color. Mine is 63 and yours is a 65.
  5. Win win situation. Only reason I put buttons on was an effort to stay stock. I’d just as have no buttons for practical reasons. Turbinator
  6. If there is ANYTHING you want the car to do is STOP. Turbinator
  7. Clark’s have good stuff. One exception is the vinyl button covers come off. In three years I’ve had to re attach about 10 button covers. I use 2 part clear expoy to secure the vinyl button top to the metal button dome. Hopefully, your buttons stay put. Turbinator
  8. Zimm, my 63 drive shaft rumbled on acceleration take off. I had new universals installed every place on the propeller shaft. The drive shaft was NOT balanced. No more vibration. Mine was a simple fix.....for once. Turbinator
  9. Gents, I had my 63 Riv brake system updated with the dual master cylinder. I’m not sure I needed to do so but I did. New brake shoes, new brake wheel cylinders and new brake lines. Tom Telesco noticed my brake assembly parts on the brake backing wheel plate were not completely fastened. Tom fixed the fastening problem AND I now have a FULL. Brake pedal. The self adjusters were not working because other parts were not fastened. My brake shoes stop the car ok with me. No argument disc conversion stops better, but my shoes stop good for me. Turbinator
  10. Pat, thank you! I have given the sales idea of selling the clocks serious thought. Turbinator
  11. When in Rome be like the Romans. The peer judging is only for how the car looks. How the car runs and how well the car is maintained is not considered in the judging. I guess you could push the car off a trailer and push to a parking place and have the car judged. I’m in for the fun, and social part. I suppose if I wanted to know how I stand Id go to a BUICK National meet have and have the car judged.
  12. Kevin, the Turbinator clock is set for East Coast turbine repair shop time. Clock works! The wheels are not stock as we know, but emulate the 63 wire wheel covers. When I come to K Zoo I’ll be showing stock set up. The tires are 710 R 15 Radial bias look. Merry Christmas Turbinator
  13. Mitch, I’m in need of a spare engine for my 63. I like to keep spares on hand. Pls advise Turbiator
  14. Ken, My lower ball joints were $180. For the pair. All the rubber bushings, sway bars, Bilstein shocks, rebuilt steering box, clean oil replace seals came to about $2000. Plus or minus 5%. That was front and back repair or replace . i think your quote is high, but I could be wrong. Turbinator
  15. Bernie, the idea of putting the wire wheel covers through a commercial dish washer was a good idea. Did you know using deionized water to clean your car will not leave water spots? i don’t use jack stands when I clean my wheels. I put the car on my lift and raise the car where I like to work. turbinator PS I never wash the body of the car with water. I do wash off my tires and wheels with water.
  16. JS, I just replied to TexRiv_63 I plan to use my electric power washer. In addition I’m lucky I put a lift in my garage. Lifting the wheels where it is ez to get to makes the job a bit easier. No doubt time investment is required . Turbinstor

  18. TexRiv_63, My car is a driver for nice days any time of the year. We have a lot of salt on the roads in central Md. in the winter months, so I don’t go out. If the roads are wet and/or it is raining. I have a power washer and a lift in the garage that puts the wheels up where it is ez to get. Working on cast aluminum wheel covers for hours on end makes cleaning the spokes a piece of cake. The spokes and the niples are stainless so I might a little reprieve from the rust. Thank you for your positive comments. Bob
  19. Tex Riv63 thank you for your compliment. Turbinator
  20. I only have these two until I get the remainder built.
  21. Ed, two of the center cap assemblies are on a business trip. Once the center cap returns I’ll mount them on the Red zRiviera and take pictures I can post.. Turbinator
