  5. that was probably me i want to put Hella's Euro spec H-4 lamps in the car as of this writing i am about half way through going through the headlamp assemblys replacing the crank arms with yours and doing the rollers in the motors i think i have figured out the problem with the Hella's and will be posting the results later this week when i have finished the job i have always been a big fan of the E-spec headlamps i was running a set of Cibie lamps in the late 70's on a 72 Skylark, Cibie Bobi lamps on my 79 Century Sport Coupe in the 80's and IPF lamps on my 78 Century wagon in the early 2000's all Euro spec i guess old habits die hard, i will keep you updated with pics i was running Silverstar sealed beams and they were pretty good for a sealed beam Marty
  6. don't think so the license plate reads correct looks like a right hand drive cant read the small writing on the plate could be the clue
  7. Took the 57 out for a short run to blow off the dust. Day started sunny but ended up as you see it. Still it felt good to stretch the legs the cars and mine. Marty
  8. alot of really nice cars I just cant get over the setup this person has for "his garage" i thought Mr Earls was really cool but for open space, not crowded, room to have a small car show this sure looks pretty neat just to make sure no one gets mad at me, Mr Earls has all the neat furniture and automobilia inside and out for the extra cool. lol Marty
  9. another thing on the "tribute" when i first purchased my car in 95 it has a small glove box size paperwork original piece from Buick that states that the 75 is a Pace Car Replica. Which it is not being one of the two real pace cars, so the wording from the company's can be a little funny some times. what was not funny was mentioning this to Condon and Skelly insurance when i had them and they think its a kit car. more to explain and more pics to send, all over one word. humorous now not then lol Marty
  10. just an observation here from a 75 Pace Car owner the person selling the car has stated it is a "tribute" car so it is probably not a factory production that being said it looks well done from the pics i have never seen one with a vinyl top, not sure if i like it but interesting the red interior looks correct but the seats were all vinyl not cloth insert the black interior S/R seats had cloth insert the black on the tail should be matte not shinny as on the front which i cant tell, the wheels are correct looks like a nice job but would need closer inspection again he says a Tribute so hes being up front, could be a fun car Marty
  11. besides what is mentioned above this is a factory A/C car but it looks like the compressor is not there i wonder what other accessory isnt mentioned looks like an intersting car for the right person
  12. looking at this great pic i am figuring it is from 73 with some great cars in it but one of the most interesting is on the left next to the boat the white car with the black hood is a 1969 Ford Torino Talladega one of about 750 made and back then probably not worth much more than a new 225 but now a restored one is in the statosphere. great pic Thanks Marty
  13. you know summer is coming and this might be a good project for the warm weather just saying
  14. after reading all the above comments, some of which i was aware of, i am more educated. i am now 63 last year i had 5 non daily collector cars, this year i have 4 as i age i am realizing many of the things that have been talked about, and my joints remind me of the rest the 5th car i had needed alot of work and i wasn't getting to it. so i finally have achieved the age of realizing i cant do it all. i took a long hard look at my collection and that car had to go, i was lucky i had been talking to someone at a cruise spot multiple times about the car and he showed interest. I was totally honest with him about all the flaws which i think is important. without to many details i sold him the car, could i have gotten more probably but i got a reasonable price, he seems happy and the car is happily off my back, and my wife who loves and respects the hobby, is not talking about it any more. so we are both happy it is gone and the money is being invested in my good cars for improvements. a win win. but remember once someone else owns it, it is their car and their vision, so let them do what they want even if we do not agree. we wouldn't want anyone telling us what to do. car number 4 may be moving out soon also, but i have to come to terms with it. that will be harder. we are a breed that hold on to too many things sometimes to long. both of our daily cars and my last collector car i purchased a few years ago are jointly owned and registered with my wife, my other two collector cars are in my will. makes things easier at the end. i think this is a VERY IMPORTANT thing i haven't seen yet, both my children who are adults would like one of my cars, which is great, but i have made it clear to them multiple times, DO NOT LET THESE CAR SIT AND DETERIORATE, IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO USE THEM SELL THEM BACK INTO THE HOBBY AND BUY SOMETHING YOU WANT. release them from the "it was dads car i cant get rid of it" syndrome i am looking forward to giving my future grandchildren a history lesson on the way to the ice cream store even though i do not plan on leaving anytime soon God only knows that outcome, we are looking at the back end planning is prudent and smart
  15. Do not think that i haven't heard that. but my bank account and room budget are telling me no lol
  16. 48Super i am not sure how much its worth but if you have an idea what you might want give me a call 516-606-4620 i could entertain it but have some questions and i am through that way to visit my son in VA every 2 or 3 months. Marty
  17. Just a reminder that if anyone is interested i can email more pics Marty
  18. From what Andy and i see yes it is probably wouldn't take much to get it running but no promises
  19. Yes i had posted it in Pre-War first thinking it might get some traction with those that love these cars, but alas it didn't so here it is. Marty
  20. This 1920 mdl 45. has become available for sale on Long Island. The owner passed away and his family is selling the vehicle. The Chapter was contacted and A couple of us are helping in finding it a new home. The car does not run. It has paint issues. Andy who owns a 1916 mdl 45 from long Island and myself looked at this car it is pretty complete and would be a great car to get running and have for fun or a starting point for a project. Call me for info and more pics and info I can put you in touch with Andy for his experienced view of the car and/or the owners family. Marty My phone # 516-606-4620 They are asking $7500
  21. just wondering are you stuck on a 67 i know of a 68 that might be going up for sale i am not sure if its a limited but its a nice car
  22. 5219 you were probably lucky enough to see one up close. I remember years ago seeing one i the northeast area at a national, couldn't tell you when. THIS REALLY COULD BE CONSIDERED THE ULTIMATE ELECTRA 225 😁 Marty
  23. NTX I totally understand your idea on the parts not sure how flxible does their work also would be curious to know if the 62 Caddy limo was on an X chassis like the Buick was. I know the Caddy limos were usually 1 to 2 model/body years behind the regular models. Marty
  24. Actually probably not many this was a Flxible conversion, not a GM project. Both of these still exist the other one is on the west coast.
