  2. I have a fader from a Sonomatic Radio and was wondering if it would work on my Wonderbar radio ? I not even sure where it plugs into? Thanks, Scott
  3. At the time this was the best/safest route as there was no place to relocate the shock .They are adjustable for firmness of ride and lift the behemoth that is the 425 .A double convoluted bag would work well if there was a safe way to relocate the shock. I`m not hopping my car , just simple raise and lower.
  4. The Proverbial Hens Teeth me thinks
  5. The most cost effective solution is lowering springs , that is the route I went with first. I lowered the car three inches but the car scraped going out of of the Garage. Flat garage ,angled driveway. The current suspension is Air Ride bag over shock combo on the front and double convoluted bags on the rear with standard shocks. Feel free to contact me if you have any Questions
  6. Rust is sometime like an iceberg, it`s not what you can see that is a problem. Too many people find rust but don`t repair it properly and just put mud (polyester filler) over the problem . If you`re a handy fellow you can save yourself a lot of money going the DIY route. There are many how to videos on You Tube on rust repair and panel replacement. . I think I`ve watched most of them
  7. Was there a tarp on the car in storage outside? Reason I`m asking is I had a car with a car cover on it in the elements over a fall and winter season. when I took the cover off in the spring all sorts of little (pinhead size) blisters appeared . live and learn , I sanded down to bare metal and repainted.
  8. Ok a shot in the dark, I would like to have Lauesen Buick licence plate frames , My wife is a Trekkie and she has seen the old photos of Spock leaning on his Riviera. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Scott
  9. I was 14 when Canada changed to metric ...well sort of. At Home Depot and their ilk supply nuts and bolts in standard sizes with a smaller metric section.Your tape measure is in feet and inches though you can buy a bastardized combo standard and metric .Drywall is still 1/2 " x 4x8 . Plywood is the red haired lovechild 19mm x 4x8. Temperature is now hot ,cold ,or really cold . I`m sure when my pals come up from the US they must like to see the 120 kph speed signs (about 72 mph) ...I`m leaving my speedometer just as it is , kinda my little tempest in a Teapot
  10. The Twilight Sentinel,Wonder bar radio foot switch,Ya the buzzer is cool too . The rear center armrest. Clam shell headlights ..I bought a `64 with almost none of the cool stuff. I happened upon a `63 that had the deluxe interior . I bought it all for $200 (that`s $146 in US funds) I now have Tilt wheel, dual paddle handles, wonder bar radio with foot switch, power seat ,remote drivers mirror. I couldn`t pass it up. Can`t say I`m all that keen on a purse hook though. Purists may see the changes but what the heck.
  11. That`s it ! Thank you for the quick response !
  12. Greetings, I`m on the hunt for information on an issue of Collectible Automobile Magazine that contained about 14 pages of `63 -`65 information.I don`t know the date of issue . I owned it once but it got away.I`m hoping this shot in the dark may jog someones memory so I can track down another to replace my missing link . I am not looking to break up a collection , just looking for the issue # and date. Fun eh? Thanks for looking,Scott
  13. I agree, dont take the window out! On the door jamb there is a rubber seal about 2 1/2 x 3 inches held on by four ( i think) screws. Take that off and you should have enough access. Take a piece of hardwood lay it on the glass and gently tap against the chrome molding, it will pop the molding off . replace the sticky rubber as mentioned in the other posts. Taking the rear quarter windows out and re adjusting them is a Royal PITA
  14. Has the stainless molding that holds the window seal come loose? I replaced mine with a new sticky rubber gasket from a local auto glass shop. dig out the old one and take it with you as there are a few different thicknesses . Also, Rubber the right way was a good supplier for me. Cheers, Scott
  15. Mine is beyond refurbishment , it has a melted spot from what appears to be a cigarette
  16. Greetings, is anyone making these anymore? Am I better to look for a good used one? Thanks,Scott
  17. First Gen Rivieras don`t need over the top modifications to make them stand out. Subtle is the key. They turned heads as they were coming off the assembly line .
  18. Are the guide wheels that run in the track worn out ?Perhaps the window fuzzy sweeper is worn out? I have spent many hours fussing with those windows, but can`t offer much more help.I`m hoping someone will offer an "AH HA" moment .
  19. I get an appraisal for insurance purposes only . To recoup some money spent in case the car was stolen, totaled etc. The Price of your car is whatever the market will bear. I think you did a great job and I have the build bookmarked for reference. If I calculated the cost per pound for fish I`ve caught I would never go fishing.
  20. Looks good, I like the `55 Olds air cleaner. A suggestion ,if you haven`t already, use Loctite on stainless fasteners, they have a way of loosening off.
  21. Try calling some of the used part vendors in the Riview. They are good people and maybe they can help you out on pricing or better yet have a client that is looking for just what you have. Good Luck.Scott
  22. Yep, I would roll with that too ! Although I would lower it 2 inches
