  1. Did you find the trick for clipping the beauty on so they stay put
  2. Ed, could you post the information,I would like a set but things here in Upper Canukistan are not as easy to aquire as down south
  3. I got my sail panel barrel clips from a guy on E Bay with the handle "Best offer Counts" https://www.ebay.ca/itm/63-64-65-Buick-Riviera-Exterior-Sail-Panel-Trim-Clip-Set-Top-Quarter-Clips-Nuts-/232561541712
  4. That`s some pretty automobile, converted into Canukistan currency thats $133,196.81. Seller must have a big grin on his face this morning.
  5. Clever engineering, thanks for the pics !
  6. What was the concern about the shockwaves I would like to see how you fabbed up the shock mounts, any chance you have some pics
  7. I`m mulling about some red pinstriping , but the problem seems to be finding what I call ''understated and subtle" I did replace the top knob of my antenna with a translucent replica in red . Perhaps my homage to Bill Mitchell without knowing it at the time ha ha
  8. no,not yet.Trans had a calf so I have a rebuild coming in the New Year
  9. I put the one below the rear window on today....I`m a little sore ha ha
  10. Shockwaves front ,double convoluted rear. The jury is out on the bag situation so I have a set of drop springs waiting in case I prefer a more static ride.
  11. Trying to post a pic of my progress for the year, lots of work to go yet, aligning fender gaps etc.Big push to get the trans out and rebuilt . Heres to a happy and productive New Year.
  12. Just finished cut and buff on the quarters of my 64, went into storage to get the horseshoes and Im pretty sure im going for new ones. After all the bodywork, paint and buffing, the horseshoes just look pretty shabby. Has anyone replaced the old with new ones from CARS or similar vendor. Just wanted to see if there was any drama involved with fit and finish.
  13. Thanks for a most difinitive answer, this will help greatly!
  14. Originally there was a sticky rubber gasket that held the piece to the rear quarter window. I got mine at our local auto glass shop.
  15. If it helps any, on my`64 one screw ( on the bottom) is screwed through the grill and backer board into the vent, the top two screws go through the grill and backer board into screw clips placed flat on the backer board. the edge goes into the molding that is attached to the body and holds the windlace in place. once you take a look it should be clear as mud
  16. Fellas, my `64 had the interior stripped out when I bought it . my question is, was the roof insulated under the headliner? If so, where would I get replacement. Thanks
  17. I bought one of those thinking of putting a tach in it .When I learned how to get my clock working it ended up in my spare parts bin . I might revist this project later so its always good to have a spare.Check out Bestoffercounts on Ebay for price comparison .
  18. Removing the trans cross member seems a logical move,it will allow the tail shaft to pivot as you lift the engine. By removing the radiator and grill the angle to lift will be less acute
  19. The engine and trans are easier to install for me if they are one unit, I`m done with wrestling under a car with a trans. As I have limited room in my single car garage the engine will be moved into storage till it mates up with the trans down the road after the rebuild. At 61 I still think having a concrete floor is a luxury !
  20. Hi fellas, I am pulling my motor and trans this winter to repair my trans. I will be putting my engine on a stand while the trans is worked on. The stands I can buy or borrow are rated for 1000 lbs. Does anyone have an idea how much a 425 Nailhead weighs ?
  21. Lots of vendors for used parts, check out the Riview ( Bi-monthly magazine of the Riviera Owners Assn)
  22. Have a look http://www.suretractire.com/about.html Made in China if that matters
