  1. Congrats on entering Hershey! Have you ever attended as a spectator? It's pretty amazing when you drive in - after coming off of the main road, you drive under the pedestrian bridge, down towards and through the toll booths, along crowds and crowds of people cheering and clapping. It really is something else! Kind of overwhelming the first time you do it
  2. Ok, got our photos uploaded! Once again, I have to thank my husband @rcktpwrd for taking all of these photos for me while I judged and then was part of the PM Take-A-Part T demo team Here are the show photos: https://goo.gl/photos/ekdiKRvR7HW9k5ki7 The first few that seem "foggy" are a fogged up camera lens! Here are photos from our wanderings through New Bern and the waterfront Friday: https://goo.gl/photos/FXHrGLUDKaeAkEvW7
  3. Absolutely! lol In this shot, I wasn't with him, or I would have tried to we'll both be in Hershey!!!
  4. Joel and I got home around noon today after an amazing breakfast in the Bakery kitchen - if you didn't stop in there you HAVE TO GO BACK!!!! Sooooo good!!! So.... THANK YOU First Capital for a fantastic meet! I loved walking around New Bern on Friday. We had lunch in Capt Ratty's, walked around the streets, got lots of photos (those will follow soon) and enjoyed the boats on the river. Friday night dinner was late but yummy once it got there and we had some great conversations at our table with other AACA members whom we had not met before. Saturday was a gorgeous, hot and sunny day! What an incredible Carolina blue sky! The cars were just amazing, the crowds were robust and enjoying themselves with all of the beautiful vehicles on the streets. I had a fantastic judging team - as always - and got to see some great trucks up close and personal. And I'm happy the Take-A-Part team didn't lose any members from heat stroke Thanks to everyone who cheered us on!! We had a great time at the banquet Saturday night - Marshall.... you are a HOOT! And are parting words to all of our new and old friends... "SEE YOU AT HERSHEY!!!!" Triangle Chapter Members:
  5. I believe I bought the carpet for my pickup from Auto Custom Carpet also.
  6. Great opening post! I was a member of National for 2 years before I joined my local chapter. My original thought was, I'm in the AACA, I can go to any of the shows, I can help any chapter, I don't need to be committed to just one chapter. But in January, I joined a chapter and I have to say, I have had the best time! I can still go to all of the shows, I can still help out at other Chapter meets, but I feel that I am more involved and making a bit more of a difference locally. I am slightly older then you... ok, more then 10 years older then you, but still young enough to enjoy this hobby immensely!!! And I feel that more people our age need to promote and enjoy our vehicles - whether they are stock or modified - and keep this hobby going strong into the next millennium! As for having to write a check, I think I am of the last of those people who enjoy getting cards in the mail or anything else that has hand writing on it, so writing a check is no big deal. And including a return envelope ensures I get mail that isn't a bill!!! Like someone else says, there will be always be an excuse to do or not do something. It just depends on what interests you enough to take the time to go for it and enjoy it.
  7. Since this thread has gone into another direction I'll chime in briefly on the "custom vs stock" discussion . Ive had a custom truck for 22 years. Ive have my stock Burb for 4 years. I love both sides of the coin and enjoy attending shows with either truck. Each are different in their own way but I wouldn't have it any other way!
  8. lol I'm only a "Member" and can't change to AACA Member
  9. Does he need a note from me? lol
  10. Another point to make that if you enter your judging class and the judges feel that your vehicle should be in DPC, they should/will recommend that to you. No matter what - have fun at the events!
  11. Hello - I won't be driving up to Hershey until Friday - can I have my father in law pick my packet up for me on the show field? Or can I get it Saturday morning after Judge's breakfast? Thanks!
  12. When I had my engine rebuilt and bored out in my 1990 454SS my engine builder recommended I use Rotella exclusively... that was 12 years ago and the truck is runing like a champ! No problems whatsoever I've not heard of the CK-4 but that doesn't mean much lol
  13. Hi Matt! Loop forward to seeing you as well! Good luck with the move! Be careful and don't overdo it NC State is not far from my house, but we are driving up Friday afternoon, so I'll see you Saturday
  14. Thanks Terry! Joel and I enjoyed our time too and look forward to catching up! I'm really looking forward to this show being it's in my state and in a town I've not seen! Can't wait to see where the HPOF's are parked! Safe travels and see you in a couple of weeks
  15. To those attending - be sure to catch the Triangle Chapter's Take-A-Part T demo! There will be 2 demonstrations (If judging time permits, I'll be on both teams )
  16. I for one voted (every day) because why not?! Took me less then 1 minute of my time. Of course it's a popularity contest but what's wrong with that? I hope there's a huge increase in participants and spectators next year in 2017. I know I'll be there
  17. I joined the AACA in 2014 after purchasing my Suburban and wanting to show it in Hershey. We were only National members for 2 years, then decided to join a local chapter and I can't say how much I'm enjoying it!!
  18. Wow! What a find! Enjoy every step of the ride
