  1. Then there was another with a 454.... very clean, but not as nice as the other. It didn't sell at $8k
  2. There were 2 Suburbans this past weekend in the Raleigh Classic Auction - one that was immaculate, 38k on the odometer, 350.... sold for $28,000

  4. Wow!! Glad you can laugh about it and all is well.
  5. Being able to get my sister to come visit us during Thanksgiving.... It will be my mom's 65th birthday (It's a surprise - SHHHHH) and the first time my sister will be travelling to spend time here over Thanksgiving - she works for UPS on Long Island, need I say more?! My sister's fiance had a kidney transplant in January and has been cleared to receive a pancreas and hopefully NOT BE Type-1 Diabetic anymore. I managed to set up most of my Christmas display - I put up about 30,000 lights in my front yard Next weekend I'll finish The Carolina Hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals 5-1 last night I wake up every single morning and smile
  6. But the fact remains that NO ONE was hurt thankfully and I think many people have learned a valuable lesson from someone else's mistake.
  7. Actually, the North Fork is/was a favorite of mine and I have been out there many times! Again, wish I knew him when he was still with us and I still lived on LI Being a South Shore girl, I enjoyed the difference in the terrain and much less traffic
  8. Nope - this man has a beard and is laying his hands all over the car. I don't think Jay would do that to someone else's car, especially after what it has been through. So glad no one was hurt, but it's sad to see what happened. I'm really hoping no one messed with the car. I've never had anyone touch my trucks without me being there and my permission (as far as I know) but things can happen.
  9. True but I don't tow. I just drive the HPOF truck to all the shows. :-)
  10. My Burb tackles hills without balking Bring them!
  11. Lived there 33 years and never heard the name before
  12. Thanks for the info A shame that it was sold off
  13. the tucker display is awesome! We're so glad that it's a permanent exhibit
  14. I spoke to a man the weekend after Hershey who said he received one.
  15. We're looking forward to a trip to WV
  16. We're watching an episode of "Chasing Classic Cars" from 12/12 and Wayne Carinni(sp) has made multiple references to going to Hershey, it's been a while since I've gone to Hershey, I've seen this car at Hershey. Makes me wonder how many car people - other then us AACA people - understand what he's referencing? On this episode, he's somewhere on Long Island. Wish I knew where he was as neither my husband nor I have any idea of who's property he's on,but they have multiple garages and TONS of information and many cars have AACA stickers on the window
  17. You certainly can't miss my tank!! Lol
  18. Thanks! I had so much fun along the way to
  19. So this year, AACA started a new award program for HPOF and DPC cars. Once you participate in a National meet, you are given a blue card when you receive your chip. When you accumulate 5 cards, you send them in to headquarters for your participation award. Hershey was my 5th National event for 2016! So I sent in my cards and today I received this! I was pretty excited to receive it. Thanks so much!
  20. Thanks for the replies! Glad to see there are a few regional events out there.
  21. I know I've read this before and although it would be nice to be parked with other similar vehicles, all cars are parked with their class. So we couldn't park HPOF with other vehicles that have been restored. It would be too difficult for the Judges to evaluate the HPOF vehicles if they are all over the show field - especially at Hershey where there are over 1,200 vehicles! It would be most excellent to have all HPOF vehicles parked in their decade together, but again, at Hershey where there are over 200 HPOF, it would be very hard to designate parking for every vehicle. One year I was parked next to a 20's-30's Rolls Royce, the next an 80's Chevette. I think it's very neat the variety of vehicles that I'm classed with considering there are over 100 years worth of cars and trucks and motorcycles that I could be parked near.
  22. Thanks! We go to Carlisle for the All Truck Nationals in the beginning of August and it's a little over an hour between the 2.
  23. This is fantastic! I found both of my trucks, but unfortunately, not my husband's 76 Cutlass S. Thanks!!
