  1. Interesting question! And welcome As a woman, my biggest problem is when someone asks about one of my trucks, they always look at my husband and ask questions about "his truck". He shrugs his shoulders and says, it's not mine! ask the owner - and he points to me. Although I don't think you'll have that problem lol Maintenance on my trucks is basic as they aren't that old - 26 & 27 years - and driven as much as I can lol Keeping people from leaning and touching them is another problem.
  2. Wow!! Should be a great day all around!
  3. How many cars are registered for the show?
  4. Enjoy your toys!!! Enjoy your health and all the days to come
  5. I was confused about that post too lol And yes, I did get the plaque - thanks so much! I had it on display in the back of the Burb at our Triangle Chapter Car Display on Saturday. I think it's a great trophy
  6. This is great as I have a 7 hour ride Friday morning
  7. I think this is a great idea for the main reason of being able to watch a class that you haven't been able to take, or for a refresher. Agreed that it would be difficult to video tape each one, then edit it and host it here. But it's a good idea
  8. Great to see you too I don't think I go anywhere without a camera!! lol I think we should just rename HPOF? hehe
  9. What started out as an "iffy" day, weather-wise, turned out to be great! A little wind a little sun, beautiful downtown Goldsboro and a slew of awesome cars! Thanks for all who put this show on today. I had a great time (I know, what else is new, I always have fun!) and a great judging team. I love the slate awards, but can someone point out what's wrong? Here are my photos - enjoy! Feel free to download any photos you'd like
  10. I'd love to, but all of my vacation days are accounted for Thanks so much for the offer - I might take you up on it again in the future
  11. I can't wait to see pictures and read the stories
  12. I don't remember what the granddaughter said about all of the cars, but some are still there. She did mention that about 31 of the cars in the collection were used in the making of the film "The Color Purple".
  13. Wow!! What an adventure this will be! Have a fantastic time and I can't wait to read about your adventures and tales. We would be available for help, but you are staying well north of NC, but best of luck to you and safe travels
  14. As long as you like the car, who cares what anyone else thinks! You're the one who has to enjoy it, work on it, share it with your family and friends. If the Buick will make you happy, then get it! I've always been a Chevy girl, but there are LOTS of cars out there that, given the funds, room and time, I would love to have
  15. Robert Street - thanks! I didn't know about it - I'll look it up Philip Roitman - I love reading books that have local places mentioned whether it's where I grew up or where i currently live
  16. Thank you for the photo!! That is great! Here's one of the straightaways as of Saturday! You can see the stands up in the trees!
  17. Wow! That's very cool - do you have any photos of the track back then or of your team?
  18. Yesterday, the North Carolina Region hosted a Cruise to Hillsborough. We all met up at the Shops at Daniel Boone Village where we learned the history of this location from the Granddaughter of the original owner. There was once an ice skating rink there, George Washington slept in one of the buildings, that was once in the northern part of NC, and is now a Mexican restaurant. I believe there was a toboggan track also. We then took a walking tour of the Occoneechee Speedway Trail which was a dirt track used from 1948-68. All that's left is the concrete stands, the announcer's booth, and the flag stand. You can still see some of the banked turns, but there are so many trees that have grown in that it's kind of obscured. The weather was beautiful and I believe we had around 26 vehicles at the event! Enjoy the photos
  19. Actually he does - he could also be in DPC or HPOF
  20. I'm sure someone else will have a better answer then me, but I'll take a shot Class 19B states: "Specified Classic Vehicles. Specifically named fine or unusual domestic or foreign automobiles primarily built between and including the years 1925 and 1942. Applications for additional vehicles to be added to the existing list of accepted vehicles must be submitted in writing, along with any accompanying factory documentation, to the VP Judging for review by the Specified Class Committee (SCC), that will make a recommendation to the Judging Committee. The name and address of the VP Judging can be found in each issue of the “Antique Automobile”. Always check AACA Headquarters for the most current listing of accepted vehicles in this class." Would your pickup fit into a "fine or unusual" vehicle? Also, is it set up as a Commercial Vehicle? Or is it for personal use? If neither of those two fit, then 20B might work for you
