It's rare to see an early Leland-Built Lincoln, which was a weathered, used car when Duro System was using it to promote their auto refinishing program. These images demonstrate that Edsel Ford had his work cut out for him to turn Lincoln into a classic beauty. By my references, the body looks to be the standard Anderson (Towson) Body Co. touring.

Museum displays, by their practical nature, can be very static and ultimately uniformly boring: row upon row of cars with no context. The Gallery forum provides the place to post these photo essays but preparation of the materials such as marque name, year or years of manufacture and company location, even perhaps production numbers will allow the views to find interest in the individual cars. If the car shown had a significant effect on the industry or society, that should be noted. If other period artifacts are present that enlarge on the era, those should be included as well. Location of the museum and other pertinent information for those interested in visiting should be provided as well.

Sometimes custom coachbuilding goes horribly wrong...produces a gorpy hodgepodge.

John: Now we know why every Locomobile owner has a chauffeur to drive and maintain their Model 48...it wasn't just because they could afford it! My outlook on 1970's cars is the current survivors may simply be the best of the production of those times, cars that proved to be reliable and relatively trouble-free. It may not be true in every case, but troublesome cars tended to be traded early, run through the used car market cycle and go to the junkyards early. Steve

Retrofitting this '47 Hudson with overdrive would be a good first objective for the next owner. Two door sedans from the 1920's to 1950's can present some proportional challenges such as quarter windows longer than the door window.
