  1. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not too shabby looking in my opinion
  2. Thanks for sharing your photos! Very interesting mix of cars.
  3. There are two on-line auctions running on the site, the auto parts sale is the second of the two.
  4. I’m using an Apple IPad to view the auction. No issues with it for viewing.
  5. Their are 16 pages of items listed, I’ve seen brass headlamps and early car brass carbide lamps on the site plus lots of Model T and Model A stuff. Also early brass carburetors too.
  6. In PA we have the same rule. For us, the historical car is exempt from our annual safety inspection requirement and some owners may view that as a way to drive an unsafe or car with questionable modifications every day.
  7. I have a pair of MORE-LITE headlight lenses marked with a size of 9 1/4” and patent date of May 23 1917 written on the outside edge. Any thoughts on what might use them? Terry
  8. It took 2 yrs of trips to the dealer to get my 2013 Dodge Caravan repaired. They finally found a service bulletin for defective cyl head issues on the 3.6 engine. Car had less than 20k miles on it so convincing the service dept a cyl head could be bad was part of the issue.
  9. Seems like you will need to have the heads removed to see what is going on. Or make it someone else’s problem.
  10. No Carfax report available, I’d be suspicious ?!
  11. Many fail to read the entire description. It’s not just eBay and smartphone users.
  12. That’s cool, both the pic and the snow!
  13. The missing point is Tesla is a long distance car, not a 25 or 50 mile range unit. To charge that large of a battery pack quickly requires a plug design that meets the safety requirements for that level of charging voltage and current and to do that Tesla specified its own plug in the US market. To copy someone else like Nissan or Toyota would not be worth the effort for what they have to achieve. In countries that have established a requirement for charging plug design, Teslas are delivered with that configuration as standard.
  14. The Unity brand spotlight is an accessory item. My 1951 Pontiac had one mounted to it on the driver’s side. The rear view mirror attachment means it was for the drivers side. Many cars and trucks had them and it’s not unique to any single auto brand. Most likely it has a 6v bulb in it.
  15. Pretty sure they are aftermarket custom caps. A 1950s customizing accessory.
  16. I had issues with our 2013 Dodge van that the dealer could not locate. Took it to a good independent repair shop who took the time to examine all symptoms of the problem and repair it. It took three visits as the problem would only manifest itself under specific operating and ambient temp conditions. Never overlook the independent guys.
  17. Actually there is no standard for charging plug design , Tesla and others are free to use whatever they want in the US. Tesla comes with adapters that allow you to use most any form of charger including basic 120v. In order for Tesla to offer a rapid supercharging station it was necessary for them to design their own plug. China has established a uniform plug standard and Tesla has modified its charge port to be compatible with it. I worked in TV receiver design during the intro of HDTV. There were several designs that were competing to be the standard. It took years of negotiations to finally come to a universal standard and allow that standard to be used worldwide. I would argue that other manufacturers should have followed Tesla’s design as Tesla is the only manufacturer to actually answer the issue of charging station access and speedy charging stations while introducing its product to the market.
  18. I would be thrilled to se a car show just for pre 1960 cars! Way too many post 1960 cars at most shows.
  19. For what it’s worth, and for an excellent contrast of new vs old, there is a free to use Tesla charging station in the parking lot of an antique auto museum located on Rt 39 just north of Hershey PA. I will not list the name of the museum but most AACA members will know it. Of course, Hershey Park has free to use electric vehicle charging stations too as well as local hotels and shopping centers.
  20. Must be! Didn’t Einstein have a theory about that? ?
  21. $2.99 gal here in SE PA. I still remember the $4 gallon days too.
