  1. Sorry to hear that maok, here is some info that might help you find what your looking for.
  2. If you're looking for a crank handle there is one one eBay at the moment. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4712.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.TRS0&_nkw=1925-1929+Chevy+Hand+Crank+Starter&_sacat=0 says it for a 25 / 29 Chev but that's what they look like.
  3. What you have described is definitely a broken bendix spring. Although you got a good response from members maybe next time you need help you might post under the Technical section or in the Chrysler group to get a better response

Back in the 30's the oil filter kit was an accessory and not standard on the straight 8's. But I would say you should put one in. Here is a engine with oil filter on its side and the bottom photo is the way you should mount yours
  5. Yes it says that they are in Brookvale NSW. Have to agree that the 77 is good value at $15,000.00 given that the other two must be selling for $985,000.00 to get to the $1,000,000.00 his is asking for the lot.
  6. At the moment about $764,820.00 US. and at that price we here would say "Tell him that he's dreaming".
  7. Great news! Always great to be able to choose from a number of options.
  8. I'm down in Sydney, well just North of Sydney at Galston.
  9. Hi mcgoo, you might want to have a look at eBay where there is a dash that shows the screws you are after. 1920's 1930's Walter P Chrysler dash
  10. As for your Water Jackets there is a company here in Australia that makes them out if Brass if you can't find them over there, here is their website. http://www.vintageandclassicreproductions.com/chrysler.htm
  11. Hi Bevans077, sorry for the delay here are some photos that might be of use to you as you can see the detail of the control tubes, levers and connection lugs .
  12. Sorry Bevans, I couldn't see the connecting rod for the advance / retard in your photos of your engine it looks Ok, can you move the connecting lugs at the bottom of the steering box to see which levers move also the same with the light switch can you rotate the tube that the light switch is mounted on to see what happens at the steering wheel end and if it moves any of the levers, any chance of a photo of the steering wheel looking straight at it so we can see the entire steering wheel.
  13. Looking at your engine photos I can see the connecting rods for the throttle but can't see any connecting rods for the advance / retard but when I look at the bottom of the steering Column I see two connection lugs and the light swim so you would need 3 levers to control their usage and then I look at you distributor and the base plate is sitting in the wrong direction to connect any control rods and looking at the steering wheel I say that they only had a throttle control and light switch and that the advance / retard was controlled by a cable from the dash, just my thoughts.
  14. That would be right, there should be 3 levers so one appears to be broken off, you are also correct about the positioning of the controls, upper tab for the throttle and the lower tab for the advance / retard on the distributor.
  15. Hi there Bevans077, There should be 3 levers and a horn button on the steering wheel one lever is to advance or retard your distributor another is to control the throttle on the carburettor and the the last one controls the light switch, that's why so many wire connecters. Something like in this photo.
  16. Hi Irontrap, Here is a Roadster with an Lid like yours.
  17. Thanks for the up date Narve, I will look forward to your report on the rope seal or if it even had one, with the rear main bearing make sure there is no blockage in the oil passage.
  18. Hi pre1939chrysler, Thanks for the message but Magoo had just what I needed so drove up to his place and bought the Bonnet on the spot.
  19. Hi mcgoo, I located at Galston, just west of Hornsby so not that far from the Central Coast, I'll give you a call later today. Cheers mate.
  20. Another one for Aussie's, as transport out weighs cost from states, so if we have any Aussie's out there that might have a bonnet / hood for a 1929 Chrysler 65 and you are wiling to sale please email me : tothebos@bigpond.net.au
  21. You might like to have a look here: there is also a video of a 1925 Phaeton and the engine there looks very much like your engine and with you engine number being B56452 it possibly is a 1925 engine. Good luck with your restoration and please keep us updated with your progress with lots of photos.
  22. I took the colour out and I think that you can see the beginning of a F at the top left of the Chrysler rosette if you look at the number four that's the style of the F you are looking for. Also the serial number of FL419R fits in well with a model 50.
  23. Thanks Narve, Your oil leak problem might be a blocked oil return channel in the Big end cap, wish you luck!
  24. Hi Narve how do you go with your Big end oil leak? and while keiser32 isn't watching I'll just add the other 2 pages
