  8. Narve, Great thread here http://forums.aaca.org/f143/brake-system-302001-2.html with photos should help you
  9. Found my manual and it refers to it as a Inlet valve seat, number 22 in the photo. Hope this helps.
  10. Hi hwellens, Yes that well might be the case with the aluminium as I don’t know if my MC had been refurbished prior, but I dare say that both aluminium and copper would do the trick as both are soft metals and are crushable to form a good seal. Hope it works for Narve.
  11. Hi Narve, I had the same problem but in my case I forgot to put the large but thin copper washer in the bottom part before screwing it on, I know it’s a stupid question but when you had them re-sleeved were the copper washers replaced? Hope this helps and good luck with your cars, here is a picture of what the washer should look like.
  12. We have someone in Australia http://classiccarbs.com.au/Classic-Carburettors/Carburettor-Overhaul-Kits-and-Parts/Stromberg-Carburettor-Overhaul-Kits/Stromberg-U-1-DeSoto-Model-30-K-1928-30-O-H-Kit-900.CS1662- But I think he gets his parts from the US at The Carburetor Shop http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/STROMBERGUPDRAFTCARBURETORS.htm Hope this helps you.
  13. Forgot to mention and sorry to say but David your dash light switch just doesn’t look right for such an original car (Sorry Mate) I know I said that I’m not a traditionalist but with such a Beautiful original car you need the correct toggle switch. So please send me a Private Message with an address and I’ll send an original toggle switch down to you.
  14. For what it’s worth here is my baby, I’m not a traditionalist so my car will never go into a show for judging as it has too many personalized features, but we all can’t be the same and I hope I don’t upset too many people Here is my Dash and as you can see I have a Radio, Temp gauge and a little mural of the homestead were the car was found so not very traditional but it gives you the idea as what the dash should look like I also have an electric windshield wiper motor and have a Clock mirror and have updated to a Blinker system so when turning I have flashing lights to indicate which way I am turning a must to have when driving around Sydney and of course a Saint Christopher badge mounted on top of the Dash. Well that's my car anyway, have started on a 4 door Sedan of the same year and model as the Roadster which is a 1929 Holden bodied (Made in Australia) Chrysler Roadster Model 65
  15. Although I agree “Get a Carter BB1” but if you wanted to go original STROMBERG U2 we have someone in Australia http://www.vintageandclassicreproductions.com/chrysler.htm who makes the Base or the carburetor, just depends how much you want to spend, still reckon the Carter is the go
