  1. Hello, I am building a Speedster and was told "Back in the Day" Franklin steering boxes were used due to their long sector shaft length. I think mid twenty's boxes were used. I am looking for a steering box somewhere around 10" from the Pitman arm to the center of the steering shaft. If you have any thing laying around I would be interested, Thanks in advance, Think Spring/Hershey Don in central Ohio 740-816-4284
  2. Up for sale are 5 extra nice 17 inch wood wheels used in 1933. The fact that the paint/pin striping is still on them speaks of their condition. No signs of ROT. Only one wheel is shown, I can attach pictures of the others to a interested party. $500. for a set of 5. Think Spring/Hershey . Don in central Ohio 740-816-4284

  5. I would pull off the oil pan. If you have not had it off before you might be surprised by how much sludge will be in it. When the pan is off you should be able to see what makes the oil level gauge work.
  6. I am surprised no one has mentioned a vacuum gauge test at idle. A normal reading will indicate things are well . This would be good base engine information. Think Spring/Hershey
  7. Hello Rick, Thank you for your response. I recently purchased 5 LH lugs nuts for $60. and the seller paid the shipping' He lived in Oregon and I live in Ohio. He shipped US postal service for $6.25 and used a 5 1/2 x 7 postal padded envelope. I will offer the same price to you. Think Spring, Don Feeney 14201 Kenney Rd Marengo Ohio 43334 740-816-4284
  8. I have a machinist friend who made two control levers for a 1928 Plymouth steering wheel hub set up. I believe he took stainless flat stock and cut and shaped/filed it similar to the factory profile and silvered them to their corresponding lever hubs. When finished they looked very original. Just a thought,
  9. You might check your local craigslist to get a good deal
  10. I bought a TP Extra wide outfit 30 yrs ago and have been happy with it. I added their vibrator and felt it was worth the money as it helped keep the pick up covered. Look on Craigslist to find a used high quality unit. They are around.
  11. Dropping the oil pan to look for sludge/ clogged oil pick up and general look over of the crank assembly before starting would be well worth your time and cost for a oil pan gasket set.
  12. Hello, I believe I have some good used Big Six valves in my spare parts if "Push" comes to "Shove" and you have "No Luck" finding New Ones.
