  1. They look really nice Don! Do you have a before picture? I always forget to take the "before" pics until "after"!! Matt
  2. I have one more bulb on the front turn signals to change out. Bought a new one on the way home tonight. Will change it tomorrow. I also hooked the original fuel pump up and she runs better with the original than with the electric one. I will leave the electric one there, just in case I have a problem. I will still have to address the radio and the speedo jumps a lot. Clock doesn't work either. All repairable. Matt
  3. Here is a picture of the old "gas" tank and the new one that I ordered from Bobs Automobilia. It drop shipped from Tanks Inc. Nicely boxed and very nice! Same size and when ordering, they ask you for a measurement on the location of the fill hole on the side. There are three different tank measurements that it possibly have. They also send a rubber coupling and the neck. Bobs sent me two hose clamps. The tank came with a new sending unit rubber gasket and new o-ring seal bolts. Tank is back under car and she runs off of her own tank now. I drove her around a little bit at the factory today, testing out the brakes, etc. Next up.........tires and new plugs and wires. Matt
  4. Nahuel I was referring to my wedding anniversary. "Holy Matrimony". Sorry to confuse you. I hope all is well with you.
  5. A guy has one listed on evilbay rebuilt for $135.00 plus shipping. Says he has 3 available.
  6. The tank is here! Still in the box. Tonight, wifey and I celebrated 16 years of Holy something or another. We had a great night out. She's really a great part of who I am. I'll see if I can get the tank in tomorrow. Matt
  7. Rob She did quiet down that lifter after some MMO. After cleaning carburetor, adding some Marvel Mystery Oil - YouTube
  8. Well now, where to start? Cancelled order for master cylinder with Kanter. They had none in stock and wanted me to send my core for rebuild. Was still gonna be 3 weeks by the time i sent it, to when I got it back. So, i took it apart, cleaned it up, replaced the boot and the brake switch and now have very nice brakes. The gas tank had been epoxied at the seam previously, so I ordered a new one from Bobs. Should be at the house tomorrow. I'll put it in and fill with gas Friday. Changed out one headlight that wasn't working. Now i have to concentrate on the wipers. PO took all the hoses loose and I don't have my shop manual yet. Anyone that can send me a picture of the pages in the manual? Rugs are finally vacuumed out and i cleaned the interior a bit. She finally has her registration done and she looks nice with her new plates. Matt
  9. Further along after 7 hours today. Door gaps are getting better, fenders are looking a little better and the hood is following along in last place........I also found some more work I need to do to the passenger door extension. Oh well. Wasn't gonna drive it this year anyways!!
  10. Sorry to hear of the loss of another auto enthusiast! God speed to him and prayers to his family and friends! Matt
  11. Ben, I HATE replying on my iphone. Takes forever. I couldn't make myself go into so many details. Thanks for giving ALL the ins and outs. Matt
  12. Nahuel, The motor from the 1950 will be different on the transmission side. Also, a motor from a 50 series is smaller than a 70 series. I think your car is a super and the larger motor will not fit between the cowl and radiator. Hope this helps and you are well
  13. Oh, I forgot to mention that I got my two new HVLP paint guns from TP Tools today! I finally purchased a 46' supplement manual after looking at Pauls book! I figured there was plenty enough information in it to warrant the $20.50 it cost. Matt
  14. WooooooooooooooooooHooooooooooooooooo! Let the race begin Brother! Glad you are along for the ride so's the rest of us that ain't have a pair of eyes so's we can experience the experience! Have fun buddy and we'll keep the light on for ya! Matt
  15. My son Kevin, took a picture of Paul and I in the garage beside my 47'. Another face to face meeting this summer! Buick guys are great to be around and welcome in my garage anytime! Matt
  16. Well, I had a nice visit here in the garage from Paul Girard (pirate) here on the chat board. He drove over here from Mass. We had talked that he was thinking about stopping by, but he suprised me today. He is also restoring a 47' RM convertible, but us much further along than I. He gave me some good pointers for getting the sheet metal closer. We talked for awhile about the cars, swapped some parts, took a couple pictures and he was off to visit se other friends in NY I think. Made for a great afternoon. Matt
  17. Well, the tank was gonna cost more to fix than replace, so I ordered a new one. Should be here Tuesday or so. I might try to bleed out the brakes tomorrow. I need to get the shop vac to work so I can clean the rugs. They'll be changed out later, but all I have for now. I cannot wait to get these last few bugs out of the way so I can drive her home and show her off!
  18. I'm going to fit the fender one last time. A good friend sent me some pictures of his car so I know what I am shooting for. I was there once, but then I "over" adjusted it. Thanks guys for the comments. I promise I will not get BADD disease! Afterwards of aligning the fender back up, I'll drill some pilot holes in the fenders for some small finishing nails and then off they come to be painted. Shoot, I'm even contemplating pulling the body back off to shoot the color as I never had the correct paint to paint the cowl section. Thinking, thinking, thinking! Matt
  19. Bob, Really nice! Makes me wanna paint! And fix stainless trim! And assemble! Nice video of a great car!
  20. Mike Glad to see you picked up the Buick out of Upstate NY. I had checked on it, but my finances wouldn't allow that purchase. So, I picked up a 56.
  21. I pulled the gas tank this afternoon and will take it to the radiator shop tomorrow. It's leaking at the seam. I also found out why the fuel gage wasn't working. Ground wire pulled loose. Hopefully they can fix the tank. I don't wanna buy a new one. I took the master cylinder apart, bench tested it and don't see much, if anything wrong with it. I put it back on the car and will try to bleed the brakes out over the week to see if it gets better pedal and consistent pedal. Matt
  22. I've done quite a bit of checking and it seems that most convertible Buicks 46-48 have a horrible sheetmetal alignment problem. More so on the passenger side than the drivers. This is exactly what I am seeing with my car. I have the passenger fender back off the car again and am contemplating my next move.
  23. Finally! A post from my buddy Anderson about his car! Woooooohooooooo! Hope you're able to get the car back on track soon! Matt
  24. Noone, including napa list a brake kit. My car is a manual brake car. I saw a 56 convertible over the weekend that had power brakes. But, mine doesn't. Matt
