  1. Ok. Here's the deal. I have been contemplating for well over a year having NEW vent window frames made for one of my Buick convertibles. These things are like hens teeth and I know that many have a need for these. I am trying to test the waters to see how many Buick, Oldsmobile and Cadillac owners might have a need for these. I'm not sure if Pontiac might have also used the same vent window frame or not. Depending on initial response of need, this will have an effect on price. I met with the engineers today and I have a rough tooling amount and price per casting amount. I will also have to have some machining done to the parts to have a finished part. These will not be chromed and this would be at the cost of the purchaser with whomever you might chose. Please feel free to comment and or PM me with any additional questions. Thanks Matt;)

  4. Durn these transmissions in those there 56's! Math 101...................$6500.00 car plus $1400.00 cheap tranny and install without warranty, plus paint job? HA ha HAAAAAA! But I don't want you to have it beercause you might have the IRS came to youruns house too! Too funny.
  5. Everything is done! I still have to bleed the brakes again and adjust them. Transmission has oil in it. Ran out of light and didn't have any help to bleed the brakes. I replaced one of the shock mounts on the rear. Someone replaced it with a bolt at one time or another, so it deserved the correct mount. Hopefully I can finish up everthing else before the weekend. Matt
  6. That IS a pretty red floor you have there! Mine is Blue by the way! haha. Lookin' nice Bro! Matt
  7. Getting all of my parts that need to be chromed together so I can take them to Hershey to be quoted. Cannot wait to see that bill:-p
  8. Well, I've only managed to purchase the rest of the lines and fluid I need. I hope that I can be left alone to finish up the transmission lines, brake line and mount the rest if the new shocks. Should only take a couple of hours to finish up.
  9. Anderson, While it might seem that I am cornering the market, I know that two of these cars have been saved from a terrible fate and will serve to restore others including this 48'. Going to be a very busy winter.
  10. Still have to bolt up one of the new rear shocks. I will remove the cooling lines off of the radiator and make new ones. Everything else is finished and awaiting fluid and test drive. Feels Gooooooood! Matt
  11. Dave, That one was right up my ally! I like it!
  12. Pretty and shiny. Glad you are able to take a little time to work on one of your rides my friend.
  13. Got my new set of shock absorbers today! Maybe tomorrow I'll have a chance to work on bolting the torque tube and getting the rear back in it's proper spot. Note to all: When attaching the torque tube back to the transmission, leave the bolts loose until the rear wheels are back on the ground so the tube finds it's true center. Will try to see if I can find some line material to re-make the lines that I broke yesterday trying to get them off of the transmission. Don't know if I'll get as far as shocks, but as long as I keep knocking things off of the list, I should get done this weekend and be able to drive a little bit.
  14. Oh no! It's the floating master cylinder that has haunted my garage for decades..........................hahahah
  15. Congrats Mr and Mrs Shadetree! Change is almost always a good thing. I wish the best for you and your family. Matt
  16. Thanks Anderson! Glad I could help out! Sadly though, I won't keep but one of the cars when all is said and done. Someone else will have to do the 48 RM and the other two have served their purposes for parts for the Roadmasters.
  17. Here is the picture of the #4 car that I hope to pick up in the next few weeks.
  18. Car #1 was the original 47' 56C convertible that started it all Car #2 is a 47' 76C car that started as this.............. And is now................. Car #3 is the 48' 76C I just bought a month ago............. And Car #4 is a car that was just found for me and will serve as parts for the 48' 76C to be complete. Probably is no less confusing! But, nonetheless, I have 4 convertibles. Matt
  19. I found this wedged in the a fitting in the cooling line to the radiator from the transmission. It was wedged in a coupling. Guess there wasn't much cooling going on in there! The transmission had been out of the car before. This must have been put in the line to keep a drip from dripping on the floor and wasn't taken out when they put the tranny back in.
  20. Old tranny out........rebuilt tranny in! Found something interesting and will post a picture when I get inside and cleaned up. Now just have to make two new cooling lines because they wouldn't turn and broke them off. Still have to bolt up the torque tube, etc. but the hard part is done. 3 hours. The tranny jack I bought was amazing.
  21. Oh!!!!!!! I likes me many times! Going to be a fun thread to follow! Good luck and nice car.
  22. Matt Whitaker's name is now all over that car, if he should want it Thanks John! I appreciate the communication today and the pictures. Cannot wait to go pick her up. Matt
  23. Looking good! Glad you have the radio marked off your list.
