  1. Ok. Carb should be back Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, I ripped out the old carpet and found........RUST in the drivers floor pan. Not to worry, walk in the park after the extensive work on my 47' convertible. Primed the floors red again and installed sound deadener. Working the rear carpet set in place. Will take more pictures after door sills are reinstalled. New fuel pump is on also. Ordering paint to tidy up the engine and manifolds a bit. But, that won't keep me from driving her. 2. Disappeared as if noone was bidding before the auction ended.
  3. Have new fuel pump, sound deadener and carpet set ready. Carb coming off tomorrow fir rebuild. Ordering seat belts for front and back for the safety of myself and family. Come on nice weather..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Have you seen the 47' and what I started with? Or my 48' that is waiting it's turn? I'm working on killing my grand kids 401 k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I don't have the room.......but the funds are available........thinking.....47' vert....48' vert........49' vert....... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Apple hydraulics has available a kit for rebuilding these. If your unit does not need to be sleeved, this is the way to go. Was under $100.00 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. John You can also expect my vote as well! Sorry I have been away from the forum for awhile and hadn't even seen this post. Matt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Broughg the 56' home out of storage yesterday. Ran like a champ. Still, have some maintenance things that I need to do. Rebuilt fuel pump, rebuild carb. New carpet set and interior deep clean and seat belts this spring. Fuel pump arrived today! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. No price leads to bidding wars. Pm for price. What do you offer? Oh, I have a better offer than that...... People will STILL be offended when I tell them their price is WAY out of line by private message. So, what is the difference? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. One more missed sub category......... What is this worth? For the newbies or the fishermen! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Why not consider a forum sub-forum for "what is it worth"? The reason most don't post a price is either they are looking for an auction site, with many "bidding" on their car. This is not "THAT" site. Or, they don't know what it is worth. Current rules state that you cannot tell someone that whatever it is they are selling is not worth what they are asking, even if you are nice and educated about it. Would be nice if the moderators would just "moderate". Generally, the population will try to guide and help anyone who asks. There is no place in the buy/sell area for the "if you have to ask, you obviously cannot afford it" nor price bashing. BUT, guiding someone in the "what's it worth" section would keep the buy/sell section what it is intended to be. Whatever the decisions, moderators should moderate, and not wait for someone else to "flag" a post. You cannot tell me that the only time they read posts are when someone flags them. Mr. Earl is pretty attentive to the posts in our section of the forum and anything out of hand that starts, is usually nipped in the bud just as quickly. Off the soapbox Mr. Whitaker...... 12. Attaboy! Nice to see you back on this girl. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Jon Do you have a preferred email? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I have several carburetors I have collected for my convertibles. Can anyone tell me what is the correct carb? I think most of them have brass tags also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Mateo Feel free to contact me for more information. Hablo Espanol! I have been working on a 1947 Roadmaster convertible for several years. There aren't really any floor pans or correct rockers available for our cars. Parts are harder and harder to find as the only ones available are parts cars in salvage yards. The parts you are looking for are usually in the same or worse condition, so fabrication skills are a must. Please post pictures of your car. We love pictures! My email is jackofalltrades70@yahoo.com You can also follow my thread in the Me and My Buick sectiion 1947 56c "cant finish unless you start" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Dash and steering column. Looking better all the time......still sore! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks. Please also check the depth of the drums or width of the shoes. Want to make sure they are the same Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I would be interested in the front and rear drums. Would like good pictures before making a decision. Don't want something worse than I already have.
  19. This weekend was pretty uneventful in the garage....... A lot of 1500,2000,2500 grit sanding on the cowl section steering column and dash. My poor fingers are cut and beat to death on the ends. I am almost finished with that part. Maybe another hour. I also worked on the pontoons for the passenger side. Almost ready to polish all of that out. Then I will install those. More pictures later. I'm pooped! Matt
  20. Looks fantastic Adam! Wonderful work! Eye candy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks for all the kind words. Getting a car ready for paint is a very hard job. Painting a car is an art! And right now I am an inspired artist and LEARNING from my mistakes. Very expensive way to learn when you don't have a good person to learn from. Working with the newer paints and clears is also another obstacle, from what I hear, but don't have anything to compare to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Adam I have a new DA polisher that is "positive drive" Polishing out after cutting leaves less opportunity for burning the paint. For my first try, i had great results so far. I still have two more pads and compounds to go. Looks great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
