  1. I meant not this year…next three years.
  2. Not sure how long you’ve been married or how many wives you’ve had but at one wife of 36 years, I’d rather treat her to a nice day of horse back riding and a wonderful dinner in town getting there in the ‘30 Lasalle. So I miss a few years….that just makes the ones I do attend that much more special. And it looks like I’ll be going the next three years!
  3. I ended up welding the hinge back together. Now I have to wait for the Chromer to finish my last two batches of parts before he will accept a new batch. This is why I wanted to just buy new ones. So while I’m waiting, I get to try and find a wall paper shop for the interior covering. That and chrome 1/8” x 7/8” split rivets and chrome 1/8” x 5/8” solid rivets. Seems I spend more time on the internet looking for parts then the actual restoration!
  4. If I can’t find a decent replacement, I’ll have to weld the broken one then send all 4 out to be plated. It’s a pain. I’d rather just put new ones on it. Seems like a pretty plain hinge but I’d need to be able to line up the rivet holes or this trunk will start to look like Swiss cheese!
  5. Where do I find the dates of future Hershey fall meets? My wife’s birthday is Oct. 4 so I won’t be going any years that interfere with her day.
  6. Thanks for the info. Beyond it being broken, they are needing to be replated. I might as well just get new ones if I can find them!
  7. I’m wondering if anyone here has restored a removable trunk. I have a hinge on a 1931 Cadillac trunk that has broken. Rather than try to weld it back together, I was hoping someone here might have a source for new ones. Wayne yachtflame@ yahoo.com
  8. I’m interested in purchasing a 1931-1934 Cadillac V-12 Imperial Sedan or Town Car. Wayne yachtflame@yahoo.com
  9. I have a 1931 LaSalle Fleetwood Ccp that is a resto-rod project. Original body with 1” square tubing frame on an original frame. Has Chevy S-10 engine and drive train with power steering. Car in primer and some new chrome. I have an original 1930 LaSalle engine and original drive train to convert back. Wayne yachtflame@yahoo.com
  10. John, let me know the cost of the copies and shipping. Wayne Elsworth 75 Cushman Rd Leverett, MA. 01054
  11. I have complete sets of 1930/31 Cadillac trunk racks and various trunks. Some trunks are Cadillac, others are generic. Wayne yachtflame@yahoo.com
  12. Any chance you have the springs that hold the door handles in the proper position? Wayne
  13. Ok, off topic but sometimes I just can’t believe what people say vrs what they think they mean. A hot water heater! Just don’t understand why anyone would call it that. If it’s hot water, why the heck would you need a heater for it!
  14. Jak, we both have the same longing. I have a friends 12 yr old daughter that is engineering inclined. She is always interested in my car, boat and parts projects. I’d like to teach her how to make molds, pour waxes and machine parts after the castings come back. She does tend to wander her interests a bit but heck, she’s just 12! If I could get her to focus on making parts, I’d be willing to share the parts making hobby and eventually give her my 125 molds for her future interest in parts making. It’s just nice seeing someone this age interested in producing something other the calluses on their finger tips!
  15. Ok, I’m gonna chime in here too. Maybe it’ll give some light to young enthusiasts. I was never a good student, not because I’m dumb, just wasn’t interested. Graduated high school and tried college. Three schools in three semesters. Thats when I thought I might try a warm beach instead of the cold in upstate NY. While laying on a beach in the Bahamas, I lucked onto a sailboat needing help to get back to Florida. I spent the next 45 years on yachts. I didn’t have a college degree but now had a passion for something. I figured out how to make this a comfortable living running and moving wealthy peoples yachts. I was lucky enough to have found a woman with the same passion, a degree and experience in accounting. We bought our own yacht. I fixed it and she promoted it. I don’t say that an education is or isn’t a necessity but I do believe ANYONE can learn and teach themselves to find what works for them. If you research enough and listen to others with experience, there’s no reason to be a “wage worker” and no reason you can’t start your own profitable place in which ever field that entices you. Now that I’m retired, I figured out how to make molds for needed antique car parts and I’m now overly busy making parts for fellow enthusiasts. I wish I new the lady in question as I have no one to pass on my learnings or hobby to.
  16. Interested in finding an accessory catalog for 1930 Cadillac or LaSalle. Wayne yachtflame@yahoo.com
  17. When I grew up on Lake George, NY, most of the marinas and shops had several round glass fire extinguishing units that could be thrown at a fire to help put it out. These were held in a metal cradle that was screwed to the wall. I’d like to have a couple to put on my shop wall. If anyone has these and is willing to part with them, please contact Wayne yachtflame@yahoo.com
  18. Chuck, do you have any of the springs used to hold the handle in the proper position? Wayne yachtflame@yahoo.com
