  1. Maybe I can.. I will have to go through my parts boxes to find it-over the weekend. Part# 1141460 I do not have this 1949 0nly horn ring retainer #1141460 but Mitchell Motor Parts Does...http://www.mmpar.com/StoreVBVS2011/PS.aspx?CategoryID=16&selection=1 Bob
  2. It's the black ground wire for the small defroster motor. It connects to the wiper motor housing for ground.
  3. Ray is probably sad you sold it. He sold his 42 S10 convertible too recently.
  4. I'll take a picture of one of my 1950 chrysler cars horn button and parts in it. Hopefully this will show the correct parts as these pics are of a 50 chrysler. The 49 has a dip in the turn signal lever and a different T/Sig housing--- but the horn operating parts might be the same.
  5. Tell me exactly what numbered insulator piece you need . I most likely have it for your C45 windsor. Bob
  6. It takes 10 minutes to put a battery in it and try to crank it.
  7. A lot of wasted effort here. That front crank bolt if found and installed is not the way to turn an unknown old engine over. Leverage is wrong. Put a good battery in it . See if it cranks over. A quick turn of the IGN key will tell you in 2 seconds if the engine is free. Done with it.
  8. New bearings might be chinese and fail prematurely! Quickly cleanly clean the NOS ones and be done with it! Check with plastigage too.
  9. Jack, You got me right back on course as to what happened to Jim's cars. He moved to Tri--Cities last year and I just saw him at JC Auto Restorations in Lynnwood a couple weeks ago! Yep... the emails are... well...we know how he feels about things!!!! Bob
  10. Jack, Did you aquire the maroon Royal 3 pass coupe project from up here in the Seattle area? I have a 46 NY 3 cpe myself.
  11. ^^^^^ Yep, Arc the shoes to fit each drum. Leave the anchor arrows at the stock factory position. Adjust the shoe cams till the shoes just touch the drums. Drive it 1000 miles... adjust shoe cams if needed. Drive it. The pedal quickly will get very firm and solid and you will have excellent brakes. Have done these brakes time and time again. I do have all the miller and ammco tools but don't use them that much as the way I described works. Have a bit of patience for the first 1-3,000 wear in miles. Easy-done!!
  12. Use the "White" Scotch Brite pads only. They are the finest finish pad. Won't scratch the bearings. Bob
  13. Hi jack.. The bodys on the six and eight cyl cars are the same length. The frames and front fenders are longer on the 8's. It's the lower rear portion on the front fender of the eight sedan and eight cylinder cars thats longer and requires the longer sill moulding. Grille and wrap arounds are the same on all cars except some early to late Crown Imperials. It's a common easy body swap from a six to eight cylinder chassis. You will have no problems! Bob
  14. Any 1946-48 Chrysler Royal or Windsor 121-1/2" WB two or four door rocker trim will fit your 3 passenger coupe. Eight cylinder and eight passenger sedans are all a longer wheel base and will not fit. Great purchase price on your car...good going!!! Bob
  15. 1221 of the cheaper line six cylinder Royal 3 pass cpe's were built from 1946-8. It's a rare car for sure and very desirable now days. Selling prices are all over the board. Floor stamping panels are the same from 2drs, 4 door ect. Trunk floor pan area is different. A quality restoration will cost $$$! Have done one Windsor and involved in a NewYorker 3 Cpe currently. Bob
  16. Glad to help Carl...I own 1946-8 Chryslers and know them well! Also 1953-54 Dodge , DeSoto and Chrysler top parts should probably be the same. Bob
  17. No pump is used on the 1946-8 chrysler. There are two 6 volt screw drive actuators that raise and lower the top.
  18. And my lastest acquisition as I already have a few 1950 chryslers and needed another...
  19. Burn't toast smoke isn't good for you either. I let the modern day brake dust blow out into the woods and see dead squirrels a couple days later-poor things. Few brake linings have asbestos these days. I love my machine and will die for it.
  20. Simple answer is no. 1949-50 Chrysler/DeSoto steering column tubes are the same . 1951-52 are a group ....... 1953-54 are a group of column tubes that are interchangable Power steering and manual columns are not interchangable. Transmission type also changes column interchangability. He needs the same year model column.
  21. Sorry I dont have a ford pulley...I'm a 1946-52 Chrysler?MoPar guy only.
  22. The Firestone RH5 was the widow maker. My Ammco 8000 has not done me in and won't.
