  1. I recall remarking some time ago about how beautiful black and ivory were together on a '55 or '56 Chrysler. I can't say for sure if this is ivory or a real yellow. It seems to change with different angles, but it's attractive nevertheless. "leveling suspension"... does that automatically mean torsion bar?
  2. I don't know how I feel about using a cemetery as a site for photography.
  3. Frank and honest assessment of the wood condition is vital.
  4. I'm almost glad that they didn't include pictures of the notable headliner.
  5. The Facebook ad states that it is currently in service as a "High -End" Wedding car. I can't help but wonder if the current owner maybe had plans to become independently wealthy by being a highly sought after chauffer. I'm sure that having that air conditioner installed set him back a few bucks. Thanks for you thoughts, Bryan. I consider myself forewarned.
  6. I think that toting a bride and groom for a day would be super boring. I also think that others might expect to join them and eventually vomiting and loud voices would follow. But, just out of curiosity, what do you guys think a gig like that would pay? Do any of you have any experience with that sort of thing?
  7. I just noticed that the seller's name is "Billy McFartigan". Make of that what you will.
  8. A carefully removed piece of fabric from the side of the seat cushion (or somewhere else equally discreet) could be woven into the damaged site on the seat back by the proper professional. While there would be some difference in shade because of uneven fading, the results would still be a vast improvement.
  9. As soon as I saw his name, I thought of his "096" cam. Geez, that's been years.
  10. I know that I'm kind of a broken record when it comes to this subject, but I do wish that guys would replace the pin stripes and sun-bursts on their mid thirties wheels. I know that it's not easy, but the results can be so charming.
  11. I'm sorry, but you have him confused with another well-loved Canadian poet and composer, Leonard Cohen. The song was "Suzanne".
  12. If I recall correctly, the Jet engine was derived from the beloved 254 eight. Shorter, obviously, but with full pressure oil delivery, not splash feed. It was probably a terrific little engine, but no one needed it. When you think of all of the useless expenses involved in creating the Jet, what could making a new crank and oil delivery system have cost?
  13. According to Auto Color Library, this is likely "Empire Maroon".
  14. I may still have a dual-action fuel pump out of a '30s Chrysler.
  15. Here is a brief read about Emilio Pucci: Emilio Pucci - Wikipedia
  16. 1938 Buicks are some of the most beautiful of the prewar cars.
  17. I came across this copy of a print of this, or a nearly identical Buick on an art print site. I suppose that a guy could maybe recover some of his restoration expenses that way: 37 Red Buick Wall Art, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints, Wall Peels | Great Big Canvas
  18. It certainly seems to be a particularly well-optioned Buick for being a 40 series.
