  1. Interesting! I suppose the air was cleaner up there.
  2. I recall people complaining from, time to time, that these looked a little too much like Chevys.
  3. The carburetor appears to have an elaborate intake box. Can one of you enlighten me to it's design purpose?
  4. Someone once said something that has always confused me, was there a period of time when the New yorker line was more upscale than the Imperials?
  5. Here's a link to C/L ad offering a '33 Plymouth for sale here in the Twin Cities area: 1933 Plymouth Sedan - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle automotive... (craigslist.org) Guys should have to finish projects like this before they move on to another one!
  6. Some shade of red might be acceptable, but not that bright of one on an otherwise sedate sedan. Also, notice all of the red slopped on the striker plate (door jamb).
  7. I don't much care what folks care to call this unique body style, but given the abbreviated quarter windows, I don't blame them for calling these coupes.
  8. Yeah, it's a shame that somebody left that radiator hose leak as long as they did. It may well be fixed now, but It looks poor.
  9. You guys really should learn to use "Google Images". It's an easily accessible Google-provided site where you simply enter a subject, in this case "1935 Chrysler Imperial" and Google provides you with a whole page of pictures. Simply go to Google, look for the small word "images" in the upper right corner, and click on it. A new page will open with a search box. Enter what you want to see in the search box. Try this, for example, "1935 chrysler imperial", and you'll get these. (I've left these first three pictures in their initial small size, but all you have to do is click on the ones on the Google site, and they instantly enlarge like the last one. There are many more. Some of these are C2 models. I didn't specify which I wanted.
  10. I hope that some of you guys will consider, at least, finishing the sentence, "I hope to finish this restoration ... before my poor grief-stricken, overwhelmed wife has to figure out how to gather, market and sell all of this and not get screwed over, overburdened and stressed to the breaking point!" I've dealt with too many widows of thoughtless, inconsiderate and unrealistic "restorers" over the years. I say "restorers", but in reality they were nothing more than hoarders. It's so not right to do that to someone who has patiently supported your dreams.
  11. You're not at all funny. Maybe I touched a nerve? Are you a little embarrassed by your ill-conceived remark?
  12. I do think that the debris on the top of the rear seat is terribly distracting. I thought at first that it was mouse activity. If it could be removed and that photo retaken that would be a substantial improvement. I haven't studied all of the details thoroughly, but I think that I'd be content with a paint job, and then just show it as is. I'd be proud of it!
  13. I'm not seeing whatever it is that you find so objectionable. The debris on the rear seat back? the iffy woodgraining on the dashboard? It sounds to me like you are nitpicking prior to offering a lowball offer.
  14. The Auto Color Library indicates that this two-tone combo consisted of "Pearl Gray" and "Crimson". Not my favorite of the many fun and beautiful colors available in these glory years, but authentic, nevertheless.
  15. Xander, I can only infer that you are calling me out for crying over spilled milk regarding my complaining about the OP use of "recs" in place of "recommendation". He chose to use the abbreviation in the title of his post, and only after my remark, chose to go back and spell out the word properly. As you view his original post now you can't tell what I was taking exception to. If you would like, I'll let you know when I require calling out on such things in the future. We all appreciate your watchful eye!
  16. I don't know why I love club sedans, or, in this case blind back sedans, as much as I do. Even on an otherwise humble Model A I think that they're are just plain sexy!
  17. I'm sorry, but if you can spell "recommendations" in the body of your inquiry, why not spell it out in your title? "Recs" is just a little too vague in that it asks readers to interpret your meaning and requires them to delve into your post just to find out.
  18. Guys seem to often think that by two-toning their car they are enhancing its appearance and, thus, value. Once again, that's not the case.
  19. I'm reminded of a '39 Imperial or New Yorker sedan with side mounts from a couple of years ago. Some idiot put a big block Chev engine in it and a blower. It just made me sick. Side mounts are just about unheard of on '39s. For '37 they aren't quite as rare, but still it's a shame.
  20. Wow that's a poverty steering wheel! I've never seen that before.
  21. If I was in the market for a "1", I'd certainly be interested in learning more about it. How much are you hoping to get for it?
