  5. Thanks Ed, It has been a great truck. Hope I am as happy with the Suburban
  6. I"m selling my 2005 Chevy 2500HD truck. It has been an impressive tow vehicle for my camper trailer and car trailer, but I have always wished that I had purchased a Suburban instead of the truck. I am in the Northwest corner of Connecticut, so it has seen some nasty weather, but I have done several things to keep the rust to a minimum. The truck is 4wd, with the manual lever on the floor, cloth seats, power windows, power drivers seat, power towing mirrors, 4 door, 6.5'bed with a cap and padded bed mat. It has 67,000 miles, I am the original owner. The Duramax engine and Allison transmission make a great combination for towing. Everything is completely stock. I listed it on Craigslist for $22,500, just thought I would post it here in case there was an AACA guy somewhere nearby looking for something like this. I will try to get a few pictures on here or at least a link to the CL ad. you can PM me thru this site or call 860-248-1102 thanks, Chris
  7. We had RM brakes on my father in laws T, They made a huge improvement!!!
  8. Kanter auto parts in NJ will make new cable ( I think) and also In-Line Tube will also. You will have to send them the original and wait a little while
  9. do you have a way to make sure the vent is closing and sealing when the float is low. Sounds like you have check everything else, if thae vent does not close the vaccum will not pull the gas into the tank. Good Luck
  10. Nice lamps is there any script or tags on the chimney of the head lamps? It does not appear in the photos, but hard too tell Chris
  11. OMG, Dont sell it !! youl never forgive yourself, cause you'll never find another one that nice! ??
  12. Howard, sorry I didn't see this post sooner, I would have sent you some of the shoelace grommets. If memory serves I had to buy 1500 and paid around $15 Chris
  13. A few years back, when gas cost $4 a gallon, my father (85 years old at the time) was so upset about the fact that his truck only got 14-16 mpg. He bought a new 6 cyl dodge pu and now is very happy to get about 23mpg. I'm not sure exactly what the deal cost him, but have no doubt that the $ he "saved" in gas milage will never be realized But he is happy with his decision, guess he would rather give his money to Dodge than Mobil. Happy to to report he is still driving that Dodge truck, I'm sure he hasn't "broke even" on the gas savings, but hopefully he will someday. :-$
  14. Rhode Island wire didn't have any a year ago. They are available from England, but pricey! i used brass shoelace grommets, wrapped the wire around, squished me, then soldered. Worked great! They make it possible to get a connection in very tight spaces, it would be extremely difficult to fit the fuse box of many early British cars with using regular ring terminals
  15. You can do it yourself, it's not that tricky. Get the right rivets, and the right countersink drill bit. Take your time and mark the location of the old lining so the new stuff starts and ends in the same location. Sometimes I have "glued" the lining onto the band before drilling and installing rivets.
  16. The Olds dealership I worked at was a Rusty Jones dealer, I remember those cans, we used them for everything. Sorry I don't have any today, Good luck
  17. Not mine, but is being sold by a Very good friend of mine. I have watched ( and occasionally helped) him sort out and fuss over every detail on this car for the last couple of years, and now that it's about as nice of a "driver" as it can be, he is actively looking for the next project. If you happen to be looking for a 64 Dart Convertible, this is a good one, and the seller, Bill, is one of the nicest, and most honest guys you'll ever meet. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291923693098?ul_ref=http%3A%2F%2Fr.ebay.com%2FUJpE6V%3Fsrcrot%3D711-127632-2357-0%26rvr_id%3D1105615004439
  18. Sorry, the oldest Antique Automobile's I have are 1956. But you never know if there might be another box in that attic, there are some Automobilist of the upper Hudson Valley magazines from the early 50's and some Motorist magazines from the 20's. ( not sure where he got those, he was born in 1922?). If I find any Antique Automobile that are older, I'll be sure to let you know cant wait til tomorrow, headed for Hershey chris
  19. There are not too many issues from the 50's but there are some. Hopefully I can help West with his set. My father in law would have liked that.
  20. You guys are the best!!! Great ideas, thank you
  21. My Mother in Law just asked me to get those old car magazine out of her attic. There was no way I could just chuck them, but I have boxes full from an uncle that insisted I take them a few years ago. So, my question. Is there any real interest in these, we all see them on Ebay , I'm not sure they ever actually sell. I have issues of Antique Automobile from the 50's to present day. Some years are complete, some not, most are in good condition. I have Bulb Horn magazines, I have Horseless Carriage Gazettes. I have The Vintage Ford, and Model T Times, I have Veteran & Vintage magazine Its a a little overwhelming, but really fun to look through them, the photos are great! If there is any interest I would bring them to Hershey, just don't want to lug them down there and find out no one is interested I know there is no great monetary value here, I just can't throw them out Chris
  22. There is a 32 DeSoto that often shows at Hershey on Saturday and he has side curtains on. Also , I would suggest contacting The WPC club and see if they could give you some help, or just ask here in the Chrysler forum. Im sure you will find what your looking for, Good Luck and enjoy that fantastic car
  23. Thank you, I guess that means he won't be buying dinner every night at Hershey ?
