Gotta love the old hood ornament/latch.

How about the number names that had meaning like Chrysler 300 and Buick Century, those are cool
-
Well that just looks all sorts of safe, but they do look to be having fun
-
There's one I haven't heard about. Neat car though. As far as coolest later model car there's plenty to pick from with Viper, Trans Am, SSR, etc.
-
Granted I'd rather a '70, but a '73 with a good tuning and cleaned up bumpers could be good too.
-
I saw a 73 Lesabre 2 door this weekend, cool car. If yoo can't get a boat with fins, you can get a big yatch. You'll be getting some nice HP in the 68-71 cars too.
-
Also have to look to the increase in multiple car families. Plus there were also less models. With the foreign makes, there were probably as many makes in the 80s and 90s as there were in the 50s.
-
The law is more strict on people taking advantage of their sporty cars nowadays too.
-
Looks like some nice projects. How was the 61 Caddy hearse?
-
Plenty of these and later models can be had for cheap prices. It's nice to see different cars at car shows too.

The car scene here isn't good, and there isn't a whole lot of variety in types of cars. I will hit up the cruise nights though and occasionally see something interesting.

Soon to be Collectable Front Wheel Drive Vehicles
The Continental replied to MarkV's topic in General Discussion
I agree that the 1985 downsize and switch to FWD alienated some people from BOP. I'd give GM until 1987 for the G bodies. Those are always going to be more popular than the full size cars. -
This is a hard one, but my absolute favorite would be the '38 -1938 Century Sports Coupe convertible, 425 Nailhead/4speed, Bright Yellow/red/red, color coded Buick Rallys, rumble seat, no side mounts -1950 Roadmaster fastback coupe, 4" chop, 455/4 speed, '52 chrome fins, '53 Skylark wires, 5 functional ventiports, Midnight Blue/white, dark blue tint -1953 Skylark white/red/white -1954 Skylark triple turquoise with white wheel wells -1958 Limited coupe, '57 rear 3 window, black/white inside and out, '54 Skylark wires, big elaborate continental kit setup -1959 Electra convertible, triple Desert Sage, bucket seats -1970 GSX -1971 Riviera GS, purple/white inside and out, split front bumper, painted rear bumper, split rear window A '46 woody and '58 hearse would both be way cool too.

Jim, the Outback LL Bean is the new Pacer Levy. Take that however you want. Anyway nice to see another Caddy and Lincoln man in Texas. Where in Texas do you live? My problem is that I like about a dozen other things besides Lincolns and Cadillacs not to mention all the Lincolns and Cadillacs I like. -
Such an amazing car. Just another reminder of why I love Buicks and Cadillacs so much more than Chevys.

Differences between a Century and Special from 36-38?
The Continental replied to The Continental's topic in Buick - Pre War
Are there any trim differences on outside? Where all does it say Special or Century? Is the front clip just bigger, or is it styled differently? How easy is it for a Buick expert to tell the difference without looking under the hood or inside the car? -

I'm young, and prefer older cars. I don't think I'd ever have one for a long time, but I think a GM X,J, or W car, Ford EXP/Mercury LN7, Dodge Rampage/Plymouth Scamp, or Dodge Stealth could have some potential. If you want to stay somewhat brand specific in your build though, you basically have to go Mitsubishi motor with Mopar FWD. Let's just hope the import tuner stuff dies out, so at car shows when they get people to rev their motors it doesn't sound like a popcorn warehouse is on fire. If FWDs do catch on though, the 3800 will be those cars' 350. -

I hear Jeep owners are encouraged to run their originals even with a Willys -

Chrome isn't the issue otherwise pony cars, Corvettes, etc would get dismissed. -

Seems like 64-66 or 72-74 is a cutoff for a lot of people for any vehicle. Next could be from 84-87 you started seeing the last mid to full size rwd 2 doors. Granted you can always turn a 4 door into a 2 door, add HP, and if you get real brave swap a FWD car body onto a RWD setup, etc. Cords and 66-85 GM E bodies are definitely collectible along with the Reatta and Allante. I don't know if performance versions will do much better as original and stock isn't as popular as it used to be, and a lot of the FWD weren't so great performers original in stock. -

Is Chrysler bringing back the TC??
The Continental replied to kachnows's topic in Chrysler's TC by Maserati
Didn't the TC have more HP? This car will be one big failure unless they cut the price in half or add a Hemi and have good styling.
