MEMORIAL DAY SPECIAL $5500 FIRM

Custom gold
350 two barrel engine

NEEDS WORK AND TLC

Gas tank, fuel pump, sending unit were replaced. Either the sending unit is hooked up incorrectly or defective because the fuel gauge on the dash does not register. Purchased a new sending unit not yet installed. Heater core has been bypassed.

Plugs, ignition wires and distributor cap have been replaced. The cooling system has been flushed and refilled. Oil changed. New battery. All other fluids are full. Belts appear to be in good condition.

The a/c works, but needs a charge. Heater currently does not work because the core has been bypassed. Radio (original) does not work.

It starts and runs. I've been told the carburetor should be rebuilt, and the timing is not set correctly. I haven't taken it for a drive because it idles rough and the tires although they look ok, are pretty old and I'm afraid they may be dry-rotted. It needs a paint job. The bumpers and other chrome, although sound could probably use a re-chroming, and though the top appears pretty sound, it could use a new one. It won't come down with the automatic switch, so I assume either the switch, the relay, or the motor/pump need replacing.

There are two small areas (passenger side fender next to front door that is blistering), and drivers side that the paint gone (small rust spot), and there are "scratches" on the drivers door just under the window. There are no old patches/bondo.

There is a split on the drivers side of the front bench seat.

AGAIN NEEDS WORK AND TENDER LOVING CARE

Buick fans, take note:  That's not a common car!

Centurion convertibles from 1973 are readily available,

but a '72 LeSabre is seen far, far less often.

Production numbers often don't tell the real story.

From what I've heard, in 1973 there were rumors going around

that the 1973 G.M. convertibles were to be the last,

so an inordinate number from that year were saved.

Therefore, 1971 and 1972, and maybe 1974 convertibles

weren't saved in big numbers.

Unfortunately, there's no phone # in the ad for future reference,

but the Craig's List e-mail is  42zst-6599554565@sale.craigslist.org.

And it's nice to see a convertible that's not red or white, for some variety.

Hope this goes, for a price well under $5500, to a sympathetic B.C.A. member.
