Chris Bamford
I've been asked to identify this barn wreck for an estate clearance and really have no idea. I'm hoping someone here can help. These are the only two photos. Engine is a six-cylinder flathead. Notables from the exterior photo are side-mounted spare, dual rows of hood louvres, dual cowl vents, bullet headlamps, wrong wheels. Notables from interior photo are dog-leg handbrake and wrong steering column (wouldn't have been a 3-on-tree). Anybody?
F&J
I don't know....but I am more than curious about what seems to be a column shifter???? I don't see a floor shifter sticking up? Must be a modified setup?

keiser31
Here is the sidemount sedan which looks to be what the car in question is....

keiser31
The car in question may have had wire wheels by the look of the sidemount hardware....this one looks to have a Chevrolet bumper on it.... Dave Henderson
I recall some Essexes having a pot metal steering wheel hub which decomposed over time. That might account for the steering change-over.
46 woodie
Beautiful Art Deco gauge panel, better save it before a hot rodder gets it.

spencer yarrow
I think 31 Essex the radiator does not appear to have louvers in front of it as the 30 does.
60FlatTop
Makes me think "Our dear departed loved one's classic car that he cherished all his life. It meant more to him that has faithful dog." Remember how sad he was when the dog froze to death huddled in the pile of old fiberglass in the back yard." The more of these abandoned cars I see the more I shake my head. Surely, don't let a street rodder get it. They wouldn't treat it properly. Where's the rolling eyes GIF. Bernie
