Large Tilt Ray headlamps, what vehicles would they have been used on ?

I picked up this set of quite large Tilt-Ray headlamps over the weekend. They are 11 inches across the front and 7 inches deep, so they have some real size to them. Both the lens and the housing are marked Tilt Ray Headlamp. Any ideas what vehicles they would have been on. I'm guessing a truck, based on the size, but I would imagine they could have been used on a large car as well. Any information would be appreciated.

I have seen those before perhaps on an Oakland?

Possibility?

My first reaction upon seeing the photo of the back end of them was that they were too large and rounded to be from a Chevrolet. However Chevrolet had similar "rings" around the back end of the acorn. Oakland, being a larger car in the GM family could make sense.

Not likely from a truck. Trucks usually had very basic headlamps. Smaller, and usually largely painted black rather than chrome plated. These would likely have been of a larger medium size car.

Looks like my old 1929 Franklin.

It was a random pic I grabbed off the internet so it could be.

Have any pictures you could post?

The Franklin shown has Ryan headlamps, Franklin did use Tiltray but not the exact ones shown by Ray62 as the ones Franklin used did not have the rings pressed into the shells as seen here.

Never took any, much to my dismay.

That is a shame but I completely understand.

I have very few pictures of the '64 Malibu SS Convertible I owned for decades.

Mainly because it was a daily driver and it was something that was always just supposed to be around.
