Sal Hepatica
I like '59 Mercs, and this is a tidy example, but the world isn't exactly beating the bushes for '59-60 Mercs. Something looks off... I think the glass packs explain all. Chrome exhaust tips and fender skirts into the dumpster would improve this Merc right off the bat. The front seat upholstery scheme doesn't look like any original stock pattern I've seen. I suspect it's been reupholstered at some point with that lined heat embossed aftermarket vinyl. Added speakers behind the rear seat. I don't think that particular two tone scheme was available. It's a sort of semi-custom to my eyes. To each his own.

John_S_in_Penna
I missed seeing this car the first time that it was posted. I like the 1959 Mercuries, and especially this roofline. A good find--and a little research can determine the seats' authenticity. It's great that some cars are overlooked or underappreciated in the market. That means their prices remain more reasonable, so people don't have to overspend to enjoy the hobby!
kingrudy
I really like the '59 Mercury. As Sal has mentioned, the paint scheme is not one that I have seen on other Mercs of this year, but it does look nice on this car. The glass packs and the speakers on the rear deck are small stuff IMO. GLWTS
rocketraider
What are the colored panels above the speedometer?

That's the area where the speedometer needle moves, it must be on a roller......it starts at red, as you inrease speed, it gets redder and less greener as it moves to the right. This one must not work as it's apparently stuck at 62 mph. 1

In the picture of the whole dash, it looks all dark above the numbers. That could be a picture while the car was buzzing along at 61 mph. But he's pretty low on gas, or that gauge isn't working.
