Buick Super $40,000

Recommended Posts

Best year for all GM products IMO. Great choice of colors in the two tone paint. The only negative for me would be the wire wheels, as I am a bit lazy and cleaning those on a regular basis would be a tedious job. That said the wires do look great on this car. GLWTS

I posted this car because as kingrudy said, and I agree that 1957 was the best styling for GM. I have a 57 Pontiac and a 57 Buick would look nice next to it. I like to think I am dreaming but there's a part of me that's is not dreaming. (Help!) The price is reasonable if, and it's a big if, the car is good shape. But I doubt that!

I have a 1957 Buick Century, as well as color chips

and the Color and Upholstery album.  The paint scheme

on this car may be incorrect:  I'd like to see the codes

on the plate on the firewall.

To my knowledge, Buicks for '57 did not have a contrasting

paint color on the roof AND the lower body.  For the Supers and

Roadmasters (the two models in the larger series), It would be

either on the roof only (with the rest of the body a solid color),

or below the side molding only (with the roof and upper

body both in the other color).

If this car is painted correctly, I think $20,000 is appropriate.

I agree that 1957 General Motors cars were very well styled.

I'm glad that the car makers introduced minivans and SUVs. Crowding six people in a sedan was uncomfortable, though as a kid there were three of us in the back seat of a wagon.  I guess I spoiled my kids with the minivan.
