383-430 was the “standard” engine.
The Y block 312 was the smaller “economy” engine.

The FE (352) was a Ford-Edsel engine during those years

The car could only have 29K miles on it, but why then did it need a new carpet? I guess the sun could have bleached it. It does come from the right part of the country for minimal rust issues. The asking price is $16K or reasonable offer. I wonder how the gas mileage is with that thirsty 430 under the hood?

As someone once told me, if you're looking at mpg when buying a classic, your'e looking at the wrong car.

It's nice to see big old beasts like this in presentable unmodified  condition, but I don't know if they bring the kind of money the seller wants. One of the appealing things about gigantic 4 door sedans from the early '60's is that they're priced lower than other somewhat more glamorous cars (or used to be, anyway.)

There was a small Edsel and a Big Edsel

Not in 1960.  😉

Not in 1959 either.

I took the wording to mean it has 29K on the new carpet & headliner since it was replaced. If you look at the edge of the upper drivers seat you can see more natural wear.

I have no idea of the value but I feel it's a bit high for what it is, I'm betting someone could negotiate down closer to $10-12 and get it...

Not a car that you could lose at the supermarket. Unusual to say the least. Seems to be in great condition for a car that is over 60 years old. Not sure if the interior is correct, but that shouldn't affect the sale. I like the wrap around rear window, looks similar to the '60s GM cars. This car reminds me of the old saying, "It could pass anything, but a gas station". GLWTS

My dad used to have one these back in the day

My Dad bought a new 1960 Park Lane. Said it was one of the finest cars he ever drove. At least until he traded it for his new 1965 Riviera. 😁
