Leif in Calif
Looks too good to be true, but no obvious scam signs in the ad.... (319 is an Iowa area code) https://redding.craigslist.org/cto/d/redding-1959-ford-galaxie-skyliner/7709657914.html This 1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner is finished in two-tone turquoise and white over a matching two-tone interior, and it is equipped with a retractable folding hardtop, a Continental kit, dual spotlights, reproduction Space Saver luggage, and more. classiclines
The first sign is price. The second sign is the CL ad shows the car is in Redding, Calif (the middle of nowhere) and the phone number is Iowa (also middle of nowhere - and I grew up there - so no offense intended). Here is the BAT link to the car that sold for $42,000 on 11/18/20. Far cry from the ad price. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1959-ford-skyliner-7/ 3

And another sign is: The current "seller" is using the 3-year-old pictures from Bring-a-Trailer. At that time, the car was stated to be in Ohio. The same Ohio building is in the current background! GARY F
I look at 59 galaxies for sale every day. Skyliners like this are going from 30 to 70 and they are not selling. I don't like them. But if I found a rag top or 2 dr, ht. I would look into it. I am trying to sell my Pontiac first. This is a total scam.
Dave Wells
Possibly the same car listed by Gem City Classic Autos, in Dayton Ohio. (no price or date) No continental kit or spotlights, but those could have been added between subsequent sales and owners. B Jake Moran
These IS one in IOWA for $1200.00. But it’s a full on project. Tempting- but nothing says money pit like a $1200 Skyliner. I genuinely like Fords 58 front end styling but it’s an easy pass on the 59s.

It is a week long event capped off with a parade of all the cars in the show. Cars come from the Northern California, Washington and Oregon. I attended this show about 7 years ago and had a great time. At that time 1500 to 2000 cars. Nice area with a few very large lakes.
