Flippers and cars for sale still tied down to the trailer, that's what makes me smile. Of course I always get The Rodeo Song stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

I also liked the comment about looking at the background in the picture. It tells much more than one would think. And the pictures bring up questions:

"Will some of the money go for driveway sealer?"

"Will he buy a mower?"

On some inherited cars: "Would moving it 5 feet be too much?"

"Couldn't they wait until daylight to take the picture?"

And probably my most frequent: "Do they need the money for tuition into the Craigslist School of Photography?"

Back in my long gone youthful years, I spent several of those making a living supplying a demand in Europe for vintage American cars and while most of the +/- 1000 cars I "brokered", I also bought and sold (often quickly) many by directly investing my own $$'s. Would that have earned me a moniker or reputation as a "flipper" ?

Sorry for mistakenly quoting this ^^ in my previous reply.

As for the sales photos, back in my earlier career as "broker/dealer/flipper" (30+ years ago) I often wondered about the less than ideal photography skills of those taking some of the vehicle they were trying to sell, but obviously the digital age has not made any difference.

Most people still can't take reasonably clear/good/revealing photos.

OTOH, like "back in the day", many seem to be quite deliberate about not revealing too much in the photos and that's why whenever I used to or still do request additional photos, I have quite specific instructions for what and how to take the photos and inevitably forcing(?) the seller to be forthcoming and truthful with their presentation.

I also learned to ask specific, but universal, questions applicable to any vehicle (or item) for sale that most sellers usually aren't expecting and their responses can be more revealing than thousand photos.

All this talking (well, posting) about "flipper(s)"(???) made me wonder how exactly do any of you differentiate those from antique/classic/used/etc car dealers and alike ?

They same way we differentiate "rare" cars! 😂

I can’t help but wonder if Mr. Stewart preferred 8 or 16 mm format. 🤔
