CChinn
I was on a business trip in New Orleans this week and I like to run in the morning as a way to get exercise and explore a new place. Look what I found while running in the French Quarter earlier in the week - a Nash Ambassador that was sitting by itself in a small grass lot. It looked like it had been there for quite a while. This is the first time I have come across an old car like this in the middle of a major city. Have others here had a similar experience? CChinn
I was staying at a hotel in the old Carondelet Building near the French Quarter. The photos here are enlarged old photos of the building in the early 20th century that are now posted outside of the hotel. What caught my eye were the old cars. I’m sure several of our sharp eyed members can identify all of them and Walt G I’m sure loves seeing the architecture of the building in addition to the cars

Now way that could be considered stripped bare unless one thinks a piece missing is stripped bare. Hub caps are even still on it. Take a trip to a salvage yard to see vehicles stripped bare!😁 That's a cool Ambassador.👍

Correct, a 1951 had Nash's version of Tail Fins with lights in them, and a 1949 had an exposed fuel cap- but yes, the grille is from a '51
Littlestown Mike
With respect to the Ambassador, I think the term "old" is a bit redundant---they aren't making them anymore and haven't for a almost a half a century---YES--you are THAT old. What struck me as odd and made me chuckle was the wild locking technics they use in that part of the country. Surely he wouldn't have broke the glass to do that, would he? By the scars in the paint, I'd say that chain has been there for some time.... I'm guessing to hold it in place in case of hurricane winds. Cool to see while running. Thanks for posting it! Paul Dobbin
That could be a fun project. but not for me. It's only 73 years old and if it's not older than me it's not an antique. As a kid, a friend's father bought a new 1954 Nash with a front seat that folded into a bed. It was the talk of the neighborhood.

JamesR
As far as projects go...I've certainly seen worse. Beware of rusty floors for a variety of reasons, though. I like these...very unique and cool. Thanks for the photos.
