Six cylinder L-head in line 6 engine with advertised horsepower rating of 60hp with a 132 inch wheel base.

Chalmers were manufactured in Detroit, Michigan from 1908 to 1923. 1914 was the first year that the mighty six cylinder was produced as all were previously built with four cylinders. The example seen here today displays all its original patina in "barn find" condition as it was found in rural New England. The engine was meticulously taken apart and rebuilt to excellent running condition.

That's what you call genuine Patina.  Cooler than a restored version.  Especially on a race car.

Barn find is such an overused term but on this one I can imagine rolling back a dusty rotted tarp with holes in it off the front of the car to reveal an amazing survivor of the era when every race was wildly dangerous.  Truly sparks my imagination even if the truth was far different…what a car!

With this one you could swan into the visitor's parking lot at almost any antique car event and they'd hustle you onto the showfield to display it as an exhibition, even if it wasn't pre-registered!
