"Just in!" the dealer exclaims in his newest ad.

But we know he has had this car 2 months or more.

Maybe he is an upstanding man, but I suspect not.

If his "just in" claim is a lie, is he also lying when he says

"rust free car" and "excellent mechanical condition"?

If anyone is honest in business, he can go much farther.

A broad base of customers will learn to depend on the word

of an honest man.

Maybe it's just copy and paste from previous ads, when he did have it "Just In!"

For a fast minute before I saw pictures of the interior, I thought this was "Moby" from Texas!

Wonder where that car is now?

Moby has moved west of San Antonio in the hill country where it get some exercise.  It is in the process of getting lots of work done to keep it dependable.

Check out the thread "working on the 60 Buick". in the Post War Forum.  I go into much detail on the problems and upgrades.

Now this new dealer is asking $28,900.

Since the original asking price was $19,995,

and it went unsold for 3 months or more,

this shows that no one was really interested

at $19,995.

Who knows what it sold for?  But it certainly

reveals a dealer's tactics:  He's likely expecting

far less than $28,900.

This seller notoriously lists prices far above retail.

I've seen his ads on the internet.  Not long ago, he had

a 1976 Buick Electra 4-door hardtop, in excellent condition

with low mileage.  He wanted $35,000!  Maybe in today's

strong market it was a $15,000 car.
