HURRICANE IDA IN THE NEW ORLEANS AREA

Someone posted that the Roths had decamped to central MS till the storm passed. Looks like it went right thru there too.

I cannot imagine returning to all that devastation. New Orleans has shown it's resilient though. To anyone here who got caught in Ida, hopefully you survived with no loss of life and little loss of property.

No electricity is going to be rough, since reliable electricity is paramount to keeping modern life going. It and airconditioning are no longer luxuries. They are necessities.

Then the vultures and opportunists will move in with as many generators as they can pack in a truck and sell them to desperate people for 3-4 times normal price. Some people have no conscience or scruples even in disaster.

I used to go to richie bros auctions. There would be guys there from the Islands (caribean) that would buy every generator and water pump. Lots of times in large lots. There was no chance of getting one as they would bid up to anything.
