  1. It’s been quiet on the Stearns Knight topic so I am posting some pictures of the progress on mine. Most of the painting and plating are finished. Still some sanding and buffing to be done and then reassembly. The front seats are at the upholstery shop.
  2. Very sad to hear of Marks passing. A big loss to all of us. Rest in peace Mark
  3. My car does not have a dealer plate that I can find. According to the information given to me with the car it was purchased by Harrah's in 1971 from Arthur T. Poheim of Pacific Heights San Francisco,CA. The information goes on the say that this is #29 of the 1928 production run and it originally had black fenders and bonnet. Art Aseltine believed the bumpers and horn are original to the car. I would guess that the paint and bumpers were updated in 1929 for perhaps a auto salon. It was according to Harrah's in good original condition in 1971 so perhaps it was first sold by a west coast dealer and remained in California until then.
  4. I would like to buy this Darryl Sorensen
  5. Very quiet now. Total rebuild 2002.
  6. Here is the mention of your car in the article. Is your design number the same?
  7. In the December 1928 issue of Autobody it mentions that this body style was being built for each of the four salons held that year. On my car the Brunn body tag indicates body # 1. The chassis number on my car is the lowest number listed in the WOKR directory for J chassis. I would guess that mine was updated for the 1929 salon which in the catalogue a rendering of the car was advertised. So perhaps mine was the first of four built in 1928 and used the following year with no others built.
  8. Ed and AJ brought much information and attention to the Stearns Knight marque. This is much appreciated. Darryl
  9. 1928 I am interested in purchasing it. PM me Darryl
  10. Looks like the gauge on my 1918 Stearns Knight. Send me a private message if you would like to sell it. Darryl
  11. I have a 1918 Stearns Knight four cylinder. It will do this occasionally, the cause is the starter gear locking up with he flywheel. I remove the starter to free it and check with the hand crank. Once reinstalled it will turn over fine , a fully charged battery seems to prevent this
  12. For a Stearns Knight 1928 model H and J a AC model A pump number 855150 fuel pump.
  13. It was not started for three years. It took nine months to free the engine after fuel tank and fuel lines were redone.
  14. New Orleans is ok but no electricity for the foreseeable future.
  15. Art restored the chassis and motor of my 1928 Brunn bodied SK. It is truly a beautiful restoration and me mechanically excellent. Although I never met him he was a true gentleman to me in phone conversations to a total novice.I have numerous written letters from him trying to explain details of my car. Check out these pictures, his work speaks for itself.
  16. I have the same lights on my car, they were connected to the original wiring harness.
  17. Gaskets are available from Olson Gaskets. I bought eight for my car from them about a year ago.
