6T-FinSeeker
For sale on Craigslist: 1956 DeSoto Adventurer 2-Door Hardtop in Pasadena, TX - $25,000 - Call or text George: 832 879 07 one five On 3/25/22, Seller reduced price to $20,000 and relisted Link to 3/25 relist: https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/pasadena-1956-desoto-adventurer Seller's Description: 1956 DeSoto Adventurer 2-Door Hardtop condition: fair odometer: 73,000 paint color: white cylinders: 8 cylinders transmission: automatic title status: clean Offered is a DEAD/RUSTED 1956 DeSoto Adventurer. It ran well when parked but has not been started in years. I frequently put a little oil in the carburetors and turned the engine by hand. It turns freely. The rust is not Michigan rust where the frame and floors are gone. It is lower body panels that need replacing/repairing. The underside is good. The worse part is the lower trunk lip but I have a replacement in good condition. Only 996 Adventurers were built in a 2 week run. It clocked the fastest speed of any stock 1956 automobile at 142 mph powered by it unique 341 2x4 hemi, It has power steering, power brakes and automatic transmission It is fitted with an underdash a/c unit. Haggerty list values #1 $93,000 #2 $63,000 #3 35,000 #4 27,500. Only about 30 are known. I am an old man who feels the time has come to pass it to a better caretaker. I am aware of all the "scam" gimmicks so do not even try. I have a clear Texas title in my name. Should you wish to buy the car it is for sale. If your objective is just to mess with me I really would appreciate you not calling. Xander Wildeisen
The motor is a big chunk of the value. A few pictures showing the complete engine bay would help. Great car, one sat in a field in Boise for years. Had old racing stickers on the windows. Was told the motor was in a guys basement in Twin Falls. Then the car was gone. Maybe it was put back together?
suchan
Why is the body so high off the wheels? Seller implies there's a motor, but it doesn't look like it. Those Hagerty numbers are crazy. Old Cars Guide values are about half.
steveinky
My #1 dream car. Except, I want it without the flooded heritage.
JACK M
I think the seller only aired up the side that he took pictures of. I see his air hose still laying there. The WD-40 and step ladder are a good touch.
SparkEE
There appear to be jack stands under the car.

B Jake Moran
Its a Mopar Halo car like the 300's. Surprised it is still for sale. Ebay is the real answer here.

6T-FinSeeker
On 3/25/22, Seller reduced price to $20,000 and relisted - Call George: 832 879 07 one five Link to relist: https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/pasadena-1956-desoto-adventurer Seller's Description: 1956 DeSoto Adventurer 2-Door Hardtop condition: fair cylinders: 8 cylinders transmission: automatic odometer: 70,000 paint color: white title status: clean Offered is a 1956 DeSoto Adventurer with exterior sheet metal rust issues. It is one of 32 known survivors from a Feb 18 two week production of 996. It's 2x4 hemi clocked 143 mph at Chryslers Proving Grounds making it America's fastest production car. I got the car 15+ years ago and it took a People's Choice award at a large car show. Fate stepped in and the car sat outside as my time and money were consumed caring for a 90 year old mother and a disabled wife. It was driven to where it sits. The motor was rotated frequently. I feel it could be driven with a days work but is sold AS IS. The rust is not underbody rot. The frame is nice and there is original paint on the floors. It is complete. The only modification is an underdash a/c. If you expect a $50K-100K cherry pie you will be very unhappy. It is what it is. Payment is wire transfer or $ in person. I will NOT REPLY to scammer "still got item/more pictures/send text code/cashiers check". If you ask it tells me you did not read the ad.
B Jake Moran
Once again, eBay is the best option because it’s non running and the seller has zero interest in lifting one finger. Live in person auctions seldom take project cars. eBay is the only answer to get it in front of eyeballs
JamesR
Once again, poor presentation makes what should be a desirable car unappealing.
