Bit more progress this week - John, Trevor and some help from Ian

Rear springs and shackles fitted, rear axle finished off and fitted and brake lines connected (brake re-lining still to do). Greased all shackles / tie rod ends / king pins.

Removed gearbox and checked clutch /throw out bearing condition. All OK, so gearbox bolted back on.

Cool doors in the background Matt! They’d look good on a Vic 6 sports ute!! 🤣

Haha yes someone went to a lot of trouble to make them match the victory roadster. Hopefully someone will want to use them one day for something. To good to throw away.

More progress this week from the regulars John, Trevor & Matt.

All hydraulic lines clipped in place, wiring loom fitted to chassis and rear shock absorbers attached.  Wheels, tyres and rims disassembled.  One tyre/tube wasn't in good shape so will be replaces and the wheels, rims and brake drums will be cleaned and repainted.  Running boards stripped ready for cleaning and painting.  Ancillary components stripped off motor for a clean-up/repaint.  Manifold heat control unit repaired and re-painted.  Camshaft and followers removed for a regrind (and better profile).

Body and parts have all had another coat of primer ready for rubbing down again.

Another full days work with Matt and JJ fuelled by Jude’s Brownies:)

Matt knocked up a pair of new running boards in a blink of an eye.  We finished off the wood work repairs in the rear tub and the wheels now have a coat of epoxy.  Also, a bit more rubbing down and filling of the body completed.

Are we going to pin stripe the wheels with silver. They look a little plain.

Pinstriped the wheels today.
Ted suggested to use an ivory colour which was much better than my silver idea. Wouldn’t of had silver back in the day.
They will look great going past at 35mph. 😁

I’ll  get the bolts painted tomorrow.

They do look awesome.  Ivory was a good choice.  I really like the turn table for striping.

Cheers!! yes that was Ted’s idea , great choice.
The turn table is my wooden spoke wheel facing machine. Very handy for doing the pin stripping, because you don’t have to move your hand at all.
