Period images to relieve some of the stress

Many things to note in this one, but one thing that stood out to me is the single seat cushion while the passenger seat is wood storage. Point being that it was truly built as a one man delivery vehicle like so many other trucks of the day. Like a spare bedroom, companies didn't want the guests (coworkers) to get to comfortable...

Good place for me to stop so others can continue to contribute.

Nice stop signs and sedan delivery I'm sure most of us wouldn't mind owning.

General Motors’ offerings at the 1939 Lisbon Automobile Salon. Center stage is a late-1938 Opel Super Six Cabriolet, with an Opel Olympia and Kadett De Luxe, Chevrolet Sedans and Chassis Cowl Truck, with Buicks and more beyond. The Chevys wear Englebert tires, the big Buick Limited appears to be a 90-L Limousine - also Frigidaire and Delco Radios are featured here and in the other photos, Oldsmobile and Vauxhall.

This from Canadian Homes and Gardens  October 1926. Shows golfer Bobby Jones being presented with a Pierce Arrow series 80 coach that was "luxuriously equipped".

I'm not sure what "luxurious" equipment could be attached to a Series 80.  I see a trunk and rear bumperettes which were not standard equipment; the visor was standard equipment.  This is indeed a 'coach' (lower-case c, 2-door sedan) within the "Coach" (capital C) lower-cost Series 80--about $650 less for the 4-door sedan than the original "Deluxe" S80.  The S80 was targeted at the Packard Single Six but when it came out as "deluxe" series it was priced $650 higher than Packard 6 generally model for model.  Within a year came the more competitive Coach Series 80 which had a flat roof (vs. slightly domed for Deluxe), one-piece windshield (vs 2-pc), grained steel window moldings (vs mahogany), and (4-door sedans) angular vs. radiused quarter windows.

I believe that this picture is of a truck that broke though the ice on the Detroit River trying to cross from Windsor to Detroit during prohibition.   I have see this picture in a number of Detroit News publications.

Anyone know the make of the truck?
