"This picture shows agents from the Brown Land Company in an early automobile looking over land in the Judith Basin . The African American driver is identified as John. The picture overlooks the Judith River east of Utica, Montana. An established ranch lies near the river. This has been identified by Myron Campbell as the "Clendenan Ranch" which adjoins the Campbell Ranch. A rider on horseback sits in the background with his dog at his heels. Brown Land Co. represented the Great Northern Railroad, selling homestead-sized parcels from land given to the railroad by the U. S. government in exchange for the building of the railroad."

Refreshments in glass bottles with metal bottle caps ( not the twist off kind) and was it beer or"soda pop". Now rarely do people use the 'pop' second word of description. Everything is abbreviated to communicate faster and with less effort: Soda ( no POP) , Pebble ( No Beach) , Amelia ( No Island) , before you know it we will all be using less words for cities/destinations : we will be going to San, or New, or Los, etc.

I think you are right, Walt.  According to our nephew's athletic son, a swimmer at the U of Arizona, and his team mates I am a "NARP"  -- a "Non-Athletic Regular Person".
