MaineDoc
I finally found my Riviera. It is a blue/silver 64 with some good options. Pictures will be forthcoming when Intercity drops it off. Now, what books do I need? I want to be able to understand the assembly of these cars as well as how to perform some service. I have been a long time Corvette owner and I like having references available when I start tearing into something. So, any suggestions?
Pat Curran
The shop manuals are not difficult to find. The 64 has a blue cover and is well worth buying. There is a separate one for the body as well. Most auto literature dealers have these in stock. Go on the internet and search auto literature dealers and you should be able to locate them. They are usually in the $65 range. telriv
Originals are the BEST. They do come up from time-time on E-Bay. A Chassis, Body manuals as well as separate manuals for the 1st. yr. TH400 are ALSO available.
Schmiddy
check out the shop "hogbnsf" on ebay, there I got the body manual for my 65 in perfect condition.
60FlatTop
I have owned my car and the shop manual and body manual have been all I needed. I have had it to the bare frame once and removed the body a second time. I never felt short of a reference in the nearly 40 years of owning it. Simple, reliable car. I could sell my manuals and never really miss them. Bernie
RivNut
In addition to the chassis and body manuals, I bought a large laminated color coded wiring diagram. Easily found on ebay.
MaineDoc
Thanks guys, these have been ordered. I especially like the color wiring diagrams. On other makes in my garage these have made things understandable for a non-mechanic.
