DAVE A
I have a question for you Hershey veterans. I have attended Hershey several time but never brought a car. This year I plan on bringing 2. The problem is I will only have one driver. Are there provisions for getting back to trailer parking to retrieve a second car??
MCHinson
Dave, I think that the only way to do that would be to pick up a friend and have them drive the second car over for you. If you can't find anybody else, I would be able to help you between the judges breakfast and the start of judging.
DAVE A
Thanks for the offer Matt. Did you ever drive a Crosley? quite a step from those Buicks!!!! You could probably park my Hotshot in the trunk of your 37!!! I'll let you know what I want to do. Maybe I'll spend some time and give Deb a few more "double clutch" lessons before then!!! MCHinson
I have never driven a Crosley. I have driven a variety of antique cars but have not yet driven a Crosley. Glad to help if needed.
danleblanc
If all else fails, we'll throw it in the trunk of my 61 Fleetwood. LOL See you at the show.
Annie G
Or I can fit it in the back of my Suburban!
John348
Getting back to the show field after the show closes to pick the other car up could be a problem also. The traffic flow is direction restricted to get the all of the cars out without a huge jamb up. I would suggest to make provisions for both entering and leaving the show. As I recall there are two exits for cars from the show field, the southern exit takes you out into town away from where the trailer parking was. Driving the Crosley would not be a problem for me, but fitting in it might be Edited July 4, 2015 by John348 (see edit history)
Jim Bollman
Which two Dave? If one is the FarmOroad you can always make a towbar to get the second car back to the trailer. You have to drive onto the field but not off.
mdh7475
Hi Dave, That's an impressive collections of Crosleys! As an amateur historian of Cincinnati cars (and a native of Cincinnati), Crosley is definitely an important name to Cincinnatians both as history buffs and automobilia buffs. Few people outside of Cincinnati know how instrumental Powell Jr and Louis Crosby were to the American story during their lifetime and beyond. I would highly recommend the book - Crosley: Two Brothers and a Business Empire That Transformed the Nation to anyone interested in automotive and american history. I am sure I am "preaching to the choir" to you and your club, but everyone should read the book. I assume you are bringing your cars for the show - cant wait to see you and the cars!! Steve Moskowitz
The show has been in the same place for several years...at least 4. It is on part of the old golf course of Hockersville Rd

starfireelvis
First year on the golf course was 2006, so this will (believe it or not) mark the tenth year it has been there! And, as anyone who attended in 2013, it drains VERY well if it should happen to rain!
danleblanc
I remember 2013 very well. My first time showing a car at Hershey. Up until the morning of, we were debating bringing the Fleetwood seeing as how we had 9" of rain in the preceeding 3 days. I got on the show field, it was solid as a rock, and much to my surprise, I had to dust off the car once an hour while we were there.
DAVE A
mdh7475; Yes I will be bringing my 47 pickup and my 51 Hotshot to Hershey. As a side note I will be leaving the pickup at the Museum for the Microcar exhibit.
