O Warning Points What Does It Mean ?
Trulyvintage replied to Mark Gregory's topic in General Discussion
It means you are not trying hard enough .... Jim -
I just dropped off a 1947 Frazer Manhattan to a member near Altoona, PA .... We had a great visit over a few hours & one of the topics was a pacemaker he had installed that had him feeling lethargic - sluggish - etc .... He was warned against welding (among othrer things) ... He was told he had to live with it ... He went to another doctor - had his pacemaker adjusted - then tried welding & exercising ... World of a difference. My takeaway - your doctor makes all the difference ... Jim

How does one ship a car body across the country
Trulyvintage replied to danleblanc's topic in General Discussion
A car shell is a static load. It is difficult to secure a shell without a frame on an open trailer without deforming the body. It costs less to ship a rolling non op vehicle as has been pointed out ... Jim -
Bringing a pre-war car into the country from Canada
Trulyvintage replied to MichaelRyerson's topic in Buick - Pre War
If you are considering buying a car from Canada .... As has been pointed out - make sure the car had final assembly in the US and there was a title/registration first issued in the US if possible If you choose to go get it yourself - you may not be able to import it for a variety of reasons Take delivery in the US - make that a condition of the sale - leave it to the Seller to make sure it can be imported I have met sellers of Canadian cars in Blaine & Oroville, WA to transport for new owners here in the states Jim -

Ed, I believe so ... Kim is not a Flipper - he grew up in the area & knows a lot of folks. Cars come to him when people pass away or move. I took the images - it is a very nice Impala Survivor ! Jim -

You can always send CASH by delivery service. I picked up a 1955 Thunderbird Survivor in Portland, OR last year. The Seller received a courier package of CASH in small bills by Fedex I believe. That is how the Buyer wanted to pay for the car. I remember the Sellers' message on my voicemail ... " I got the box of cash this morning - you can come pick up the car . " Jim

No offense but that make of station wagon does not have the interest that other brands have. Any money you put into it you probably will not get back out. If money is what you are looking for & you are not going to keep it - sell it " as is " where it sits now. Whoever is storing the car or an acquaintance of whoever is storing the car is your best bet. Jim
