  1. i cleaned the point but will have to wait for a test run.
  2. Don't worry Bernie I ordered one to try out about 13 hours before your post...
  3. And how does one adjust the VR?
  4. OK next question. Took my 80C out for a little spin test run before my trip. During warm up and the first couple miles of driving I have a nice charge going. Then it kinda goes flat and then a discharge below 50mph. When I stopped for gas I still had plenty to get restarted and it charge for a bit at idle and then back to flat and then discharge. Is that normal for a Generator? Been doing it since the drive home from Allentown. Thinking about swapping out the voltage regulator.
  5. this one is interesting too https://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-640912-3-Ton-Bottle-Stand/dp/B003ULZGFU/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
  6. So my 3.5 ton floor jack gave out (still trying to fix it), but leaving next weekend for a trip in the 38-80C and want a "travel" jack anyway. Found this jack on Amazon and I can get it here in two days https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003UM5M12/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3QLE9EFHBYOHH&coliid=I2L036XQZEGS98 It's smaller and lightweight so good for travel. Plus thinking it could be a good back up jack in the shop and more stable in unknown ground conditions (compared to a bottle jack) out on the road. But rated at 3K. My 80C is 4300 lbs. Since it is not lifting the whole car, only a corner (for a tire change on the road) I'm think it should be more than enough. What do you think?
  7. now I just have to figure out how to insert a picture of my '38 when Cam says "That's a good looking Buick" and change Billy to Brian....then it's perfect...
  8. I love it!!!!! I like me some Carolina Panthers (Buick/GMC is their official vehicle) and Miranda Kerr ain't bad either.
  9. What's a phone book?? Maybe I will google it...
  10. Actually what you see in the photo is the 1/8th thick. I don't recall why I chose the thicker one, perhaps I wasn't paying attention or didn't realize there were two options, but based on my experience the thinner would have been a little easier to work with (cutting it) and as you pointed out for tucking it in, though I doubt 1/32 makes THAT much difference in the grand scheme of things. Apologies for the delayed response I was traveling and wanted to come home and see what I actually bought. Thank you Adam, Dave and Lamar for the kind words.
  11. Thanks to Pete for publishing my tech tip on this subject in the Jan '17 Bugle. I hope everyone finds it easy to follow. Once again a thank you to Mike and Willie as well as I totally followed their lead and documented as I went with a tech tip article in mind.

  17. I first met Merit in 2012 at the national meet as a flea market vendor and then time and time again at subsequent national meets. As flea market team leader, and with due respect to other great flea market vendors, Merit was one of my absolute favorites to work with year and and year out. Always friendly and smiling! He'll be missed. B
