  10. Correct Enclave remains at it's current approximate size and 7 passenger seating when updated on an all new platform (C1XX) tat arrives as a 2018 model year. So far only some spy photos, No public reveal yet. Spy photos show a very similar to current appearance but it sheds quite a few pounds.
  11. The original buyer of my Buick 80C was a lady by the name of Mary Ballard Duryee. She was a poet and president of the New York Women's Society at the same time Eleanor Roosevelt was also active in the women's society. http://www.nytimes.com/1988/04/01/obituaries/mary-b-duryee-92-poet-and-civic-leader.html The actor John Garfield owned a 38-80C. There was also one in the Pillsbury (yes the hehe Pillsbury) estate. At nearly $2000 in 1938 I would tend to believe buyers would be affluent and the car not their only car, but I am simply guessing other than the factual info above.
  12. She is a nice lady and an individual who I consider a friend. She spends the time searching and organizing her parts and what she sells is accurately described both in condition and year/model fit, good for her to make a fair profit for her time in doing so. If you don't like her prices don't buy. The market dictates what a fair price is.
  13. So we had our grand opening last week. I know y'all wont care for the brand of car, but the building itself is freakin' cool... it is the first one in the world of Nissan's new image program. check it out http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/releases/nissan-s-new-retail-design-debuts-at-nalley-nissan-of-atlanta/photos
  14. Actually it is just going to add a sub-brand called Avenir, so like GMC has the "Denali" version of most or each of its available line-up and it represents the peak available options, etc. so will Buick have Avenir versions of its models. Think Enclave Avenir, Cascada Avenir, Lacrosse Avenir.... This is not too dissimilar from what Buick has done in the past with Electra Park Avenue, or Lacrosse Super, etc. etc. http://www.autonews.com/article/20161003/RETAIL03/310039965/buick-greenlights-avenir----as-a-subbrand
  15. Willie turned me on to Bob Drake Ford Reproductions for the material. I'll do a tech tip in TTII (Bugle too if Pete wants it) shortly I took photos as I went, but the credit for the how to goes to Mike (Buick5563) and a thread here from a couple 4-5 years ago.
  16. Several years ago read about replacing the fiber material in my decklid. Thank you to Buick5563 and OldTank for posting about it. This weekend I finally worked on it. Here is before
  17. I got to get those pesky mopar's out of the way. Tried to before we left for A-town so I could put the Buick on the lift for cleaning and nut and bolt check, but the '69 wouldn't cooperate. I have a few things left to do the 80C then next car in line for restoration is the '69 Charger (wife wants a car with seat belts and factory air...what's the fun in that!!).
  18. Thanks Larry, and got your voice mail too. so it's top material in the center single thick and understand about the black rubber, but didn't quite understand what the outer material is? Also as requested in your VM here are some "glamour" shots of my 38.
  19. Hi Larry wow, thanks. I don't need to borrow per say as the upholstery guy I have been doing great just off pictures. Can I get detailed pictures of the stitching? It looks like different materials, what are they? Is the oil cloth bag factory too? I'd love some photos of it too if it is.
  20. oh and one more thing the longer part of the bumper tip should be up I've seen more than a few cars with bumpers installed upside down.
  21. Suchan, To clarify in 1938 the middle rear fold down bumper guard did not bolt though the bumper but was "clamped" around it, but I don't know bout 37 (actually I have never seen a 37 with a fold down rear center guard). In 38 there is a hole in the center of the front bumper for those cars equipped with either a medallion or a center sharks tooth guard, but there were also 38 fronts without either and thus no hole. again don't know for 37. Finally lots of info can be found here http://1937and1938buicks.com/The-Torque-Tube/The-Torque-Tube.htm use the technical index to help find the info you want to research.
  22. I talked to Nate Seybold already. I know the other guy...
