  1. email your registration form in to Roy at the email on the registration form and then mail the check (if not paying by CC)...and just to be clear as I am now an out to pasture past pres with no capacities within the club whatsoever I don't speak on official behalf of the club or the meet I am just speculating this is a solution.
  2. yeah I definitely have suspicions that is the source
  3. I'm so glad your back doing registration this year Roy. You've got it down to a science, smooth as silk and I know everyone appreciates the updates you are giving the forum. I know I couldn't have done 2012 without you and Michelle. You know I'm just teasing about the rock...I knew I'd get me confirmation # soon....
  4. I did mine online ( was easy) I got an email confirmation...it doesn't have a number
  5. I was wondering if the forum could point me in the direction of technical experts on this trans. or quality rebuilders. I've begun disassembly of my 69 Charge towards a full restoration. in the 30 years i've owned the car my trans has leaked like a sieve and only gotten worse despite a new oil pan and several attempts to correct the leak / rebuilds locally. I'd like someone who know what they are doing to look at it and go through it to make it like new. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  6. LOL... Buick's are meant to be driven... besides all my money is in the car so cant afford a truck and trailer...or so my wife tells me.
  7. Well two Carolina BCA members had their Roadmasters accepted to the 2017 Pinehurst Concours. Both set off Friday separately for the roughly 100 mile drive from Charlotte to Pinehurst for the show on Saturday. My Roadmaster made it 15 miles and started discharging. A voltage regulator swap didn't help so I turned around and headed back to the house and replaced the generator. The spare generator also failed to fixed the problem and quite literally went up in smoke. At this point I didn't feel like trying generator #3 and disappointingly called it a failed attempt, making me 0-2 on actually getting to the Concours I had been accepted to. At least I don't have to repaint anything this time. Anderson Pearson did make it in his 41 Roadmaster Convertible Coupe without incident and picked up some hardware for his efforts withe a Pinehurst Class award for American Classics Pre-War. Congrats to Anderson!
  8. I believe this is a "tribute car" I am aware of one 39-80C i believe the owner told me he made it look like the pace car. All the historic pictures of the '39 pace car (that I have seen) show it with a truck back. But....
  9. This is an 80C...note the slant back. They only made 3 of these....
  10. So this is a 81C, note the trunk back in both photos. They made 311 domestic and 53 export, but....proceed to my next post.
  11. Thanks all for the kind words. Be on the look out for a new adventure in under a week! Washed, waxed gassed up and ready to go...
  12. Thanks Barney for posting. Philip great to see you and Sean at the meet. Congrats on your AACA award as well. More info here:
  13. So if I can be indulged for one second. Technically this is not the 51st Annual Banquet because BCA National meets didn't start until 1971 and they skipped a year (1974) so this year would be the 46th....the 50th meet will be in 2021 and on the current desire to go east, central, west, central, east, etc for meet locations, 2021 would be a central meet. So the 50th national meet supposed to be in the central US...Flint is in the central US...just saying...someone should call the Buicktown chapter...Where's R.V.? ok I've stirred the pot so back to your regularly scheduled program...
  14. Also AACA and BCA Members Paul Haddock and Anderson Pearson got in on the special awards too as noted above. So we did pretty good!! Up next....Carolina Roadmasters: Pine Away No More Pinehurst...
  15. OK this one was a pretty short trip I have to admit. A whole 3 miles instead of my usual epic journey. But after my last adventure found here I was just happy to actually make it to a car show without indecent. This weekend was Charlotte AutoFair and the AACA Southeastern Spring National Meet. That meant Saturday my 38 was with AACA and Sunday with the BCA in Charlotte Motor Speedway's car show. I didn't get to take a bunch of photos in fact I took none on Saturday. I did achieve my first junior which i was thrilled about. Then today... CONCORD, N.C. (April 9, 2017) – Poetic justice was served on Sunday at the Pennzoil AutoFair presented by Advance Auto Parts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, when Brian De Pouli and his Botticelli Blue 1938 Buick Roadmaster claimed Best of Show honors after a spectacular four-day show. De Pouli, a Demarest, New Jersey, native, had one of the most remarkable stories related to any AutoFair entrant. De Pouli’s Roadmaster – one of 411 produced – was originally bought by well-known New York poet Mary Ballard Duryee for $1,900. After Duryee sold the car, De Pouli’s father bought it in 1984 and gave it to his son as a graduation present that required significant renovations. After 11 years of restoring the uniquely colored Buick, De Pouli began taking the car to shows. “I’ve been coming to AutoFair since 1998 and I’ve been working on this for a long time,” said De Pouli, who lives three miles from the speedway in Concord, North Carolina. “I’ve seen a lot of my friends win Best of Show at the speedway and I never thought that I’d be (in the winner’s circle) too. … It means a lot to win this at Charlotte Motor Speedway. I’m very excited that my kids get to be a part of it. They’ve already claimed the trophy as their own. I don’t think it’s my trophy anymore.” MORE INFO: Four days of family-friendly fun and glistening cars against the sun-lit backdrop of Charlotte’s 1.5-mile superspeedway also included appearances by world-renowned car designer Chip Foose and displays saluting female racers and the 50th anniversary of both the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. On Sunday, judges presented additional awards to: Best of Show Runner-up: Dennis Cook’s Marina Blue 1966 Chevy II Best of Show Second Runner-up: John Jancic ‘s yellow 1970 Dodge Coronet RT Bob Laidlein Award (Most Original): Paul Haddock’s 1932 black Buick Victoria Coupe Mecklenburg Strelitz Award (Ladies’ Choice): Anderson Pearson’s Lancaster Grey 1941 Buick Roadmaster Cabarrus Cup (Most Creative): Gene Phillips’ 1951 silver Kaiser Henry J Concord Concours (Best Restoration): Greg Spears’ beige 1970 Ford Ranger XLT TICKETS: Fans can purchase tickets to upcoming speedway events including the April 28-30 NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway and the Coca-Cola 600 on May 28 by shopping online, calling 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or buying them at the gates.
