  3. Here's a thought for your boat tail. A few years back I sold a 46-48 Desoto hood to a guy that was going to use it as a deck lid on a boat tail project.
  4. Push Button door handles and vent windows put it in the 52-55 first series era.. Imsc.
  5. Used try John Fowlie @ Big M Automotive in Wiliams Calif.. New Floors I hear the Folks at Real Steal Replacements Have a good reputation but not the fastest on the planet due to hand making them.. I have been waiting 2 months for floor pans and inner rockers for a 57... There is a man from Finland making floor pans and selling them on ebay and they are Top Notch pieces according to the folks over on the Forwardlook.net Don't buy any of the junk sold out of ebay from classic parts 4 you and the other name they sell under both are out of Michigan..
  6. 5.25-21" tires are all but non existent. Last week I managed to get the last 3 Firestones Summit had and have not yet been able to find the 4th anywhere. I did find a few 3" Wide Whites somewhere among the phone calls but at nearly $400 a tire I passed... Many places are showing them on their websites but when ya call to order it the same story, They are out of stock and no idea when they will be back in.. CokerTire.com Looks to have 4 of the Blackwall BF Goodrich 500-24 tires in stock $268.00 ea
  7. I think the headlights were changed to the Deluxe style at one point, They don't match the cowl lights and the grille shell is a plain old painted down to the ugly old green. From what I seen in the Dodge Bros book Deluxe tear drop headlights should have the matching cowl lights.. We never go to Brewsters we always go to, I think its Forries out by Pinchot once in a while to Reesers.. Thanks all for the encouragement!
  8. You guys know these things better than I ever will, so what do you think? I found this on FB on 4/23. Early the next morning (Sat) I called the owner and went and looked at it. I was very amazed how solid the body was but was not really interested in another project so I told the owner I wasn't interested and thanked him for his time.. Saturday night and Sunday this thing continued to nag, tug and haunt me non stop.. The owners phone # was written on a piece of paper still on the coffee table. Sunday night I dosed off watching the tube and woke up a few hours later, first thing directly in site as my eyes opened, the Phone #. Well I went and made my first trip, came back and started the show over and tossed the remote on top of the phone # on the table and again drifted off.. About daylight I awoke sat up and about the time my feet hit the floor I looked down for my slipper there was that damned phone # on the floor alongside my slipper staring up at me.. Ok I will call and ask a few questions that were nagging at me.. 8am I called. He had listed his # in the add. Low Ballers and Bottom Feeders were ringing his phone non stop and he was frazzled.. I asked the questions I had and as I was getting ready to hang up he again stated he was going nuts with the phone calls so I asked what is your rock bottom cash money today price?. I didn't expect that response.. I told him I would take it, he was here in 15 mins. Turns out I went to school with the daughters of the old guy that had owned this car since he was 15 in 1954.. The guy I bought it from traded some work for it and shoved it in his the garage and never touched it. Title was still in the old guys name. I have not even turned it over as of yet. I hope to get to that shortly.. I have only found 2 spots of rust in the body one behind the rear of the passenger door and one in the L rear wheel well.. Both were plated decades ago. There are a few things missing, rain gutters, spare wheel/rim a few rim clamps one of the lock nuts for the windshield pivot, one of the hood latches is broken as is the knob on the light switch. (If anyone has any of these parts to sell message me) I have no idea why the trunk lid and opening were removed and plated over. (I may leave it this way or I may fix it at some point all depends on whats available and the cost) Kids got in the old man's out building and thru rocks at it leaving some nice dents and busted glass. The brand new custom made gas tank was a pleasant find.. What is the Globe brand thing on the dash,, Aftermarket gas gauge?
  9. Thank You guys for all the help! Unfortunately it didn't get to come home today but we have the fingers crossed for tomorrow? It's only 5 miles from home but getting a time that fits both our schedules is proving quite the challenge.. The hard part will be figuring out what I'm going to do with it.. I had to have it but don't have the desire to restore it and don't want to see it cut up into a rod.. BHWINC
  10. Have you tried John Fowlie @ Big M Automotive in Williams Calif.?
  11. Hello Folks, I'm a very new owner of a 26 coupe , I will be picking it up this Saturday and 3 out of the 4 tires are shot, I don't want to to drag or try and push it across the 3" ballast I have for driveway stone so I want to replace all 4 tires and tubes before I unload it. I did purchase the proper tool for the split rims. What tire size is correct for the 21" wood Wheels. also for the inner tubes are the valve stems centered in the tubes or are they offset? One last question, what size are the Headlights suppose to be 7" or 8" someone at one point installed a set of the tear drop lights from a deluxe.. Thank you in advance BinPA

  17. These show up on ebay quite often but usually bring $100-$200 each I have owned and parted 50's and later mopars and have never used such a tool. Many door and window handles I have pulled with tools as simple as a butter knife with the tip bent up . The bigest thing to remeber is to keep the window handle pointing straight down, this position will put the area of the clip that you need slightly push towards the front of the car at the 9 oclock position.. On the door handles the clip release area is on the bottom of the handle.. If you have the factory service manual, there is a blue print of a simple make it yourself tool as is shown on this thread over on the forwardlook.net http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=21660&posts=14&highlight=door handle tool&highlightmode=1#M139228
  18. There is a topic on these diesel mopars over on the forward look site Viewing a thread - 1959 Plymouth with Perkins Diesel Also more info and pictures can be found on the allpar site.. http://www.allpar.com/mopar/perkins.html http://www.allpar.com/history/plymouth/1946-1959/diesels.html

  21. 3940217 is a 69 Impala heater/blower switch with AC, From what I gather out on the net. I'm thinking headlight switch on the 6volt job.
  22. top two pics are from a 55 or 56 Dodge, is it marked as 6 or 12 volt? as this is what will determine the correct year.. 55 6volt, 56 12volt The rocker toggle switch(PANA0074.JPG) is from a Mopar in the 68-69 era. I believe the bottom left is also mopar but can't for the life of me, place it to an era.
