  1. Thanks Peter , You da man !
  2. If you look at the cover on the spare it shows a strap holding the cover on with some sort of pad or bracket on top.
  3. I'd rather see them used as grills, this way people are less likely to put them in Fords.
  4. Let me play the painters dictionary.... The term single stage came about when basecoat/clearcoat arrived on the scene. Single stage=paint, hardener, reducer. Two stage=basecoat,reducer-clear,hardener,reducer. Three stage=basecoat,reducer-pearl,reducer-clear,hardener,reducer. Single stage means one application not one product.
  5. I love that lady. She can give the little old lady from Pasadena a run for her money.
  6. Wow ! My car must be worth at least $100,000
  7. What kind of car is it? I'm going there on the 4th of July. If you would like I could check it out and give you my opinion.
  8. I have some literature from 1964 but I cant find this accessory code 2K. Can anyone help? Glenn this means you!
  9. Larry,Single stage paint still uses a hardener and a reducer.
  10. Sounds to me like a hardener issue. If the hardener was old or not enough you could get that result.Whats happening now is alot of shops dont deal with single stage anymore so if a customer wants a job done they use old materials that they have on the shelf.
  11. The S is for "Super" performance. It just keeps the car in second gear. I guess you can say its like turning off the overdrive in a new car. But I just drive in drive unless I want to hotrod around in a 4800 pound car. Fusick or USA parts supply has a lot of Olds parts. http://www.usapartssupply.com/
  12. Nice car! Thats not the first time I heard that a dealer listed the car wrong. Are you sure the vin matches the paper work? Also, stranger things have happened but did you check the bulbs in the dome lights? I'm glad to hear we converted a Buick guys opinion.
  13. Yes, if you listen to the sound and focus on the engine I agree it does sound like its trying to stay running. But you would think the engine would be shaking if that was the case. Diagnosis is next to impossible over the internet. Its hard to say. I hope its something small.
  14. Wow, I just saw your videos and I have no idea what that could be. When you find out let us all know.
  15. Isn't that the back of the firewall? I've been in the collision repair business for eight years and never hear the term toe boards. I questioned the tearm for that reason. I guess you learn something new everyday.
  16. The pictures in the first post have a bad link. So here they are again.
  17. This is from the day when racing was racing. Fred Lorenzen is best known for winning the Dayton 500 in 1965. Anyone else have any old Oldsmobile race car pictures?
  18. I hope thats not in an area that has snow and ice. How about, I always wanted a house on a hill.
  19. Nice car! Glad to see you have the Guide-Matic option. Is that the original color? What does the body tag say?
