  1. If you go to a Chysler dealer you can get them and they work fine. The only difference is that they don't have a wing nut head, it is a screwdriver head. They are used to hold the trim panel under the steering column on. They are used on Caravans etc from the middle/late '90s.

    reatta brakes /

If you want a conventional brake system the '91 is the way to go. I have an '89 w/135000 miles and my amber light is now coming on intermittant. I purchased the car last Dec. and am using it as a daily driver. The previous owner replaced the accumulater and the pressure switch. That seems to be the 2 items that go bad.Other then the fact that I can't stand it when everything does not work, I really don't need the ABS as I don't drive the car in the winter. I still feel, as do others, that the "true" Reatta experience can only be obtained with either the '88 or '89 because of the touch screen.

    IPod use

TommyH should be able to help you out.He is a 17 year old electronics whiz. He made one for me.
  4. I went to REATTA.NET and went to the brake section. Then at the brake I looked up troubleshooting and they spoke about a brake resevoir sensor. I am not sure what that part looks like. According to REATTA.NET the only 2 things that will make the ABS light come on is either the MAIN BRAKE RELAY or that BRAKE RESIVOIR SENSOR. I am going to toss out another idea, the front wheel ABS sensor lead. My light is also coming/then staying on. On my front leads the insulation are bad. I tried taping them up w/electric tape but I think they are now shot. Any thoughts?
  5. Nic, I am not sure what you meant by pictures not being posted so I brought it back around for you.
  6. I replaced the relay and the light went out for 100 miles. now it comes back on after the car has warmed up. Anyone with ideas?
  7. I would check to see if the thermostat is in the right way.If it is upside down I don't think it would open properly.
  8. I purchased mine from Carquest. They had them in stock. Price $8.99 for the#890. I was in a u-pull yard and the cost was 4 bulbs $2.00. No warranty. They are still used in the fog lights of the Grand am/Grand Prix
  9. My amber light has been coming on and off lately on its own. I tried swapping out the relay per the FAQ on the brake section of this forum. Should I buy a used one or do you only go new on this? If I go new where are they to be found and a rough idea on price?
  10. Hey Randy, Glad to see ya postin again. I have wondered how you have been doing. Looks like you have had challenges, hope you can see light at the end of the tunnel. I'm glad to see you may have parts for sale as I probably burned my bridge with our friend from Minnesota.

    Remotes

I wished you would have posted. I have 2 very nice Cadillac remotes for sale.
  12. I am using the Cadillac remote as well. I have 2 programmed and they work well. If you have only 1 remote you must treat that one remote as if it were two of them. I remember reading back where the remote didn't work right until he programmed his one remote twice during the program sequence.
  13. I think I would try the Seafoam thru the vaccum line first. Then I would take another look at the coil pack. If you read Padgett's tutorial on the coil pack swap many times you will get a bad electrical part [after all they are in a junkyard]. He went thru 1 or 2 before finding one that works. Only my 2 cents.
  14. I watched it all the way to the end. I kept thinking the end was going to be different... HeHeHe
  15. Jim, If you go to ESPN right now you can watch the 1999 title game where the Vikes lose to the Falcons. They may even have the interview where Chris Carter just about cries into the microphone "this was supposed to be our year!"
  16. You did great. No codes means the car detects nothing wrong.
  17. You know there just might be a couple nice guys in Minnesota, don cha know dere hey. Good of you to help her one time hey! Good for you Jim. Oh and by the way, the Packers are winning games they have no business winning. But I'll take the wins anyhow! Kind of like the Bears back a few years ago when they were doing the same.
  18. And here I was looking for words of wisdom regarding my lights. Not sure if what you posted was wise though.lol. What do you expect from a hillbilly? He did have a couple of good runners. First Dorsey Leavens then of course Ahman Green. The Vikes in my opinion have almost always had better personnel, but just couldn't get it out of the players. Poor head coaching, although Sherman was not a good coach, he could of had a couple of rings too.
  19. You probably don't have bad sensors. When you press the status hard button and look at diagnostics thru that screen, it will show you what the warning would be if you HAD trouble. If you want to know what is going on with your car go back to my prior post on this subject and it will tell you what to do.
  20. My #10 fuse is good. Where is the high/low relay? My headlights do switch from low to high and back again. Could the relay still be bad?
  21. I would just like my fog lights to work. Can anyone enlighten me? My running lights work [using the fog light switch] and my wiper and light switch pods illuminate. I have checked fuses and they are fine. I have an "89. Any clues?
  22. Justin, When we say go thru the diagnotics, we don't mean use the status "hard" buttom. What we mean is to have the climate control off. Then press the off and warm buttons. This will take the computer into diagnostics. Report back with any codes. You can press end to exit. The status button will tell you what the warning looks like. It is not an indication of any failure, unless it comes up on its own.

    '89

The '88 hood emblem is the only year with the small size. I am assuming the fluid level is good. Then yes I would start with the filter.
  24. What's up with the brakes and how much do you want for it? Does it have a sun roof and what color is it? Dave
  25. I took the cobbled together bad one back to the u-pick yard. They let me grab another one. Took it home, installed it and that one too runs good. Turned out to be a good deal.2 alternators for $20.00. Other then the aggravation of going back twice. Padgett's rule is correct again. Every other electrical part is no good, so take 2 right away.
